Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bayern Munich blocked an ideal move for unwanted Axel Disasi to leave the defender in an unfortunate spot.
Senegal international Jackson had been left out of the Chelsea squad to start the season after the club completed the signings of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro during the summer.
The 24-year-old had boarded a flight to Munich to join his new club on a season-long loan before an injury to Delap destroyed Jackson’s transfer plans with the Blues trying to recall the striker.
Jackson’s agent was adamant he was going to join Bayern Munich after the former Villarreal man had been pushed out by Enzo Maresca.
Fortunately, the deal did come to fruition with the German champions signing the Senegalese on a big-money loan ahead of an expected permanent deal at the end of the season.
However, this deal came at the detriment of Disasi who also was pushing for a move away from Stamford Bridge.

According to BBC Sport (1 September), the Frenchman received interest from Bournemouth and West Ham which never transpired.
The defender had his heart set on a reunion with his former side Monaco in France, however the late loan move for Jackson stopped the centre-back heading abroad.
Chelsea had run out of overseas loan spots by using the last one to cement the Senegalese’s move to Bavaria, blocking Disasi from heading back to his home country.
In the Premier League these loan limits do not exist, but abroad the club have to adhere to UEFA’s regulations, unfortunately meaning the ex-Aston Villa man will have to rot away in the Blues’ reserves until the next transfer window.

Football Insider verdict
Although it would be highly unlikely right now, there is still a glimmer of hope for the 27-year-old at Stamford Bridge due to the current centre-back situation.
Levi Colwill’s injury has seen a spot appear at the back that needs to be filled for Maresca with the Italian even asking for another central-defender to arrive before the end of the summer window.
That did not come to fruition as the former Leicester boss opted to play Trevoh Chalobah plus another defender in the role.

Both Josh Acheampong and Tosin Adarabioyo haven’t been able to entirely nail down the vacancy as Wesley Fofana continues to build up his fitness.
The Frenchman has suffered frequently with damaging injuries which has seen Maresca be more cautious about chucking him in straight away.
This does provide an opportunity for Disasi to claw back his Chelsea career, although at this current stage it seems improbable.
