Nicolas Jackson’s impending Chelsea exit could be plunged into uncertainty as the club try to ship their unwanted players out before the transfer window closes.
Jackson’s future at Stamford Bridge has been a hot topic of conversation this summer after his poor performances at the Club World Cup and Chelsea’s impressive attacking transfer business.
Enzo Maresca has moved to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and bring in Brighton & Hove Albion striker Joao Pedro, so the Senegalese international has been pushed down the striker pecking order and is yet to make an appearance this season.
Former scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in June that Chelsea are ready to accept offers for Jackson this summer amid impatience around his performances, while Football Insider recently revealed that Aston Villa are interested in Jackson.
Football Insider then revealed on Monday (25 August) that Bayern Munich have opened talks to sign Jackson as he seeks a Stamford Bridge exit, but an issue has now been raised with him potentially moving overseas.

The Daily Mail (27 August) have revealed that Jackson could miss out on joining Bayern because he would take up Chelsea’s last available international loan slot, blocking other wantaway players from finding new temporary clubs abroad.
FIFA rules state that one team can only loan six players abroad at any one time, and the Blues have already used five slots and are still trying to get rid of a whole host of players including Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi, so they may need to keep their last slot free.

Chelsea have history of recalling players to free slots up, as Caleb Wiley returned from Strasbourg to allow Joao Felix to join AC Milan in January, but after four overseas loanees only just left this summer, the Mail have also revealed that Deivid Washington, who is midway through a season at Santos, is not currently under consideration to be recalled.
That leaves just one slot set to be open between now and the end of the window on 1 September, so it is unclear whether Jackson will be picked as the player allowed to leave for a side outside of the UK.
Football Insider verdict
Chelsea impressed on numerous fronts last season with Jackson as their first-choice striker for the majority of the campaign, but his CWC summer antics that saw him sent off against Flamengo will have seen him go down in Maresca’s estimations.
Not only has he made a rod for his own back, but he has seen serious striker competition arrive at the club in Pedro and Delap, with both impressing in the USA and recently in the Premier League in their 5-1 thrashing of West Ham.

Neither of that pair would have joined the West London outfit to play second-fiddle to the Senegalese international, and now an exit rightly seems like a foregone conclusion, but where to is still anyone’s guess after this new development.
Villa’s interest could be peaked once again if Chelsea do want to loan Jackson to another Premier League side to allow another player to move abroad, especially after their tough start to the new season with no goals scored as yet in their first two league games.
