Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be joining Birmingham City after spending the last two seasons with Besiktas.
Amid their desire to have another promotion push, Birmingham have eyed a move for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Chris Davies’ men began their Championship campaign with a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on 8 August, before beating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 on Saturday, 16 August.
Blues have enjoyed a largely successful transfer window, but former target Chuba Akpom joined Ipswich instead of moving to the West Midlands from Ajax.

Following Birmingham’s 2-1 win over Blackburn, Davies’ side face Oxford United in their next Championship clash on Saturday, 23 August.
Meanwhile, speaking about Blues’ interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain on talkSPORT’s ‘transfer Tinder’, Ally McCoist said: “I’m swiping right (saying yes) all day.
Swipe right.”
Football Insider verdict
Birmingham did remarkably well to win 111 points in League One last season, but the Championship poses an entirely different challenge to the third tier.
The West Midlands club have made notable additions this summer, such as buying Marvin Ducksch from Werder Bremen, and signing Eiran Cashin on loan from Brighton.
Meanwhile, having previously won both the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool, Oxlade-Chamberlain’s presence could inspire Birmingham to consecutive promotions.

However, Oxlade-Chamberlain has a worrying injury history, suggesting that he may not be a reliable asset in the second tier for Blues.
If the versatile midfielder encounters fitness problems in the Championship, his signature would come as a hindrance, rather than a help to Davies’ chances of guiding his club back to the Premier League.
Meanwhile, after drawing with Ipswich, Birmingham have another opportunity to prove their worth when they take on another one of last season’s top-flight sides, Leicester City, on 29 August.
