Liverpool may have to let go of some important players to be able to balance the books.
If a player is loyal, hard-working and leaves everything on the pitch then they will be adored at Anfield regardless of talent.
However, one player who ticks all these boxes, as well as having the talent in abundance, is Harvey Elliott, although his Liverpool future is unclear.
He may not be a scouser but as a boyhood Red he is an adopted one, and at just 22 years old, he has already played just under 150 games for the club.
But, with his game time limited last season and the arrival of reinforcements in positions he can play in, a move away from Liverpool seems likely, even if Elliott is reluctant to do so.
He certainly won’t be short of suitors either, but if the Reds are going to sell him, clubs will know what they have to do after Liverpool made their stance very clear.

Elliott has proven to everyone why he made his debut in the Premier League so young, doing so at the age of 16 years and 30 days old.
His talent is clear to see, he just does not often get to prove it, but when he does, he often shines and shows glimpses of brilliance.

This has attracted the interest of many top clubs around Europe but specifically in England, although The Athletic have reported that they will not let him go cheaply.
In their report they reference how Liverpool rate him incredibly highly and despite being so experienced, still think he has a lot of potential to grow.
His versatility is another factor that makes him so effective, especially in the attacking positions, and he almost always impresses when given the chance by contributing with big moments.
The Athletic conclude by reporting that Liverpool completely understand his desire to get regular minutes, but if the right offer does not come in – with this needing to be a big one – they have no intention of selling.
As mentioned, Elliott certainly won’t be short of choices and some big clubs are interested in getting his signature.
West Ham could be an option for Elliott, although he may prefer a move to a club in Europe or at least one that suits his style of play.
In the same report, The Athletic conclude that Newcastle, Brighton, Tottenham or Aston Villa could better suit the 22-year-old, with the latter one of the favourites to sign him.
Time is definitely on his side and wherever he does go, he will likely flourish, perhaps eventually proving to Liverpool that they should have given him more of a chance.
