Liverpool have a busy summer ahead of them as a new era beckons at Anfield due to Jurgen Klopp’s impending exit and Arne Slot taking the reins.

The Reds are also set for changes at boardroom level, with Richard Hughes taking over as sporting director at Anfield.

Slot, Hughes and FSG’s Michael Edwards will look to do all they can to not only maintain continuity from the Klopp era, but to build on it.

The future of several key Liverpool players is also set to be decided in the coming months, such as that of Mohamed Salah.

The 31-year-old’s Anfield contract runs until the summer of 2025, so it remains to be seen what his future holds on Merseyside.

However, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, it looks as though Salah wants to stick rather than twist.

Sheth told GiveMeSport: “If you look at it in black and white, Mohamed Salah is under contract at Liverpool.

As far as that goes, he will be a Liverpool player next season.

“The noises we’re getting out of Liverpool are that they expect him to be at Anfield next season.

Some of the noises emanating from the Mohamed Salah side would be that he wants to stay at Liverpool.

“If all of that comes to fruition, he will remain at the club.

At the end of the day, it is Mohamed Salah’s decision because he is under contract at Liverpool, so he will decide whether he will stay or not.

“If Liverpool say it is the right time to sell him, Mohamed Salah does not have to go.”

Even though Salah’s Liverpool contract only runs until 2025, he’d still offer a lot to the Reds even if he were to leave on a free transfer.

His goal contributions remain high, and his experience would be invaluable on the pitch, on the training ground and in the dressing room.

With Arne Slot set to take over at Liverpool, there could be some initial uncertainty at the club in terms of what to expect, and Salah would be able to help out during the post-Klopp transition.

Unless a Saudi Arabian club turns up with a stratospheric offer (and they’ll obviously know they’d be able to get him for free in 12 months’ time) then Liverpool may as well keep Salah on board.
