Rangers supporters are confused by their club’s transfer tactics as Russell Martin continues to rebuild the squad this summer.
The former Southampton figure has failed to bite his tongue since being appointed at Ibrox, though his honesty and no-nonsense approach have won him a lot of fans for the 2025/26 campaign.
Djeidi Gassama, Oliver Antman, Nasser Djiga, and Joe Rothwell have all played major parts since coming in, though it has been a frustrating start to the season in the Scottish Premiership after two draws.
Many fans are more focused on advancing in the Champions League, having set up a qualification final against Club Brugge, with the first leg kicking off at Ibrox on Tuesday, 19 August.
With just days until the Gers’ key clash with Belgian giants Club Brugge, there remains a lot of speculation regarding some of the manager’s biggest stars, such as Cyriel Dessers, Hamza Igamane, and Nico Raskin.
Football Insider understands that Rangers are waiting for the Igamane race to heat up, having been linked with an exit at the start of the window, but the defence is one of the biggest concerns now.

Jefte, who only joined the Union Bears last summer, and Ridvan Yilmaz are now expected to leave before the window slams shut, but it is a third full-back who has waved goodbye on a permanent basis.

Robbie Fraser’s move to Livingston has been confirmed by the club, having spent the second half of last season with the newly promoted side, and fans have been taken aback by the news.
Supporters have been excited for the 22-year-old full-back to be given a chance in the first team, with just six senior appearances to his name, but that dream appears to be officially over following his move away.
With both Jefte and Yilmaz likely on the move, one supporter called the decision “strange”, while another sarcastically applauded the club’s “outstanding business” at Ibrox.
The likely lack of left-backs once the summer transfer window closes has been pointed out at length by the supporters, and that kind of concern is unlikely to go unnoticed by Martin and his team.
