The transfer window is reaching its climax and Liverpool still have some deals they want to get done in time.
The Reds have had a hugely exciting summer and now that the Premier League is officially back, fans can, hopefully, enjoy the rewards their transfer business should bring.
They have had somewhat of a summer overhaul and had a refresh in many different areas to try and help them retain the title, with their first game of the new campaign seeing them pick up all three points.
It was not the most convincing performance, however, and there are still additions needing to be made, with the Reds feeling that Alexander Isak is just one necessary addition still required.
Whether this happens or not is heavily dependent on Newcastle’s ability to find a replacement, although former striker Alan Shearer believes the process might be sped up if Liverpool stop ‘belittling’ the Magpies.

Liverpool have admired Isak for a very long time and their stance all summer was that they simply would not send in a bid unless given encouragement from Newcastle themselves.
However, the excitement was short lived and the bid was rejected almost immediately, much to the surprise of the Liverpool hierarchy, although Shearer believes that it was rightly rebuffed as it was a ‘belittling’ offer.

“There’s a way of doing things and the way Alex is doing this at the minute is not the right way.
It’s not a good look for him or his agent, who has obviously got into him, and Liverpool have got into his agent,” Shearer said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“To come in and offer £110m is rather belittling as well when you’ve got midfielders going for £105m and £100m, they know they aren’t going to get Alexander Isak for £110m.”
Now, the Reds are just playing a waiting game and hoping Newcastle allow him to leave, but with just over two weeks left remaining in the window, getting a deal over the line might be tight.
Although Liverpool offered a lot less than the £150m that Newcastle are after, it is very unlikely, and probably even impossible, that they choose to go that high.
Not only because they do not feel he is worth that much, but based on the current saga they simply will not have to.
Once they have signed a replacement, they will want Isak out the door rather swiftly to put an end to all the speculation and stop all the distractions.
With that said, the Reds will have felt they have offered a fair fee for the Swede, which will have been roughly what Newcastle indicated they might have accepted, meaning there is no need for them to up their offer.
They may ever so slightly increase the amount they pay upfront, but the overall fee will likely stay the same, suggesting that Isak, if allowed, will move to Anfield for around £120m.
