Former Liverpool boss and weekend rival Brendan Rodgers has been heaping praise on his old club for their ability to handle an injury crisis.

Rodgers became Liverpool manager in 2012 and nearly brought the Premier League title to Anfield.

Rodgers will realise that and hope his side can come good against his old club Liverpool.

Liverpool is an incredible club, they’ve been Premier League champions and European champions.

It could be argued that there has never been a better time to take on Liverpool, as the Reds are struggling with a plethora of injury problems, particularly in defence.

But Rodgers was clear in his pre-match press conference that Liverpool have more than enough cover to successfully fend off his side and also made it clear that his old Liverpool connections will have no bearing on the fixture.

“Not really,” Rodgers stated, as reported by the Leicester Mercury.
