Federico Chiesa has become something of a cult hero at Liverpool despite only being with the club for a season.

The Italian made the move to the Premier League last summer after a deal worth around £12.5million was agreed by Liverpool and Juventus.

Several clubs from across the globe have been linked with a move for Chiesa this summer.

“It’s not true that Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa is once again a topic of discussion at FC Bayern,” he said to Caught Offside.

“The 27-year-old Italian forward is contracted to Liverpool until the summer of 2028.

It should be stated clearly for the record that Bayern never held a serious interest in bringing the former Juventus star to Säbener Straße.

“Either way, Chiesa has made it clear to the club that he wants to stay at Anfield.”

This season is likely the last chance that Chiesa is set to get to try and prove his worth to Slot.

The Italian is now the Reds’ fourth-choice attacker, and even though another player could be brought in, the fact that he can be used across the front three makes him an important part of Liverpool’s plans.

That is, especially when AFCON comes around, as the Italian will likely be used to fill in for Mohamed Salah while he’s away.
