Nottingham Forest are set to complete a deal that proves they are backing new manager Ange Postecoglou in the long term.
Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the City Ground last week, returning to Premier League management just three months after being sacked by Tottenham.
It has been a difficult start for the Australian, who oversaw Forest’s 3-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday (13 September), before they crashed out of the Carabao Cup at the hands of Championship side Swansea City.
Now, the Trentside club are rumoured to be bringing in Scott Munn, who was formerly in an executive role at Spurs during Postecoglou’s time at the helm.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that it is a vote of confidence for the former Tottenham boss that Evangelos Marinakis is appointing people he has worked with before.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Postecoglou had a good relationship with Munn at Tottenham, and his appointment would hint at the fact that Marinakis wants to keep the Australian long term.
Munn could be coming in as the director of football, replacing Ross Wilson, who is expected to leave Nottingham Forest to join Newcastle United.

Wyness added that it would be a good move for all concerned.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Well, it’s the two Aussies reuniting in that sense.
They seem to understand each other, although it didn’t work in terms of Postecoglou getting the squad that he wanted to cover the injuries.
I don’t think that was necessarily Scott Munn’s fault.
“I think they did have a good relationship, and to reunite it would be fine.
I think that’s a sign of backing Postecoglou and perhaps a longer view from Marinakis about his tenure there.
So we’ll see how it starts to work out, but I think it would be a good move for him.”
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest could come up against Espirito Santo very soon as Premier League clubs add him to their managerial shortlists, sources have told Football Insider.

Marinakis and Nuno held “crisis talks” at the City Ground in the hours before his sacking, and the 51-year-old won’t be short of offers for a quick return to the top-flight.
Sources say that clubs across the Premier League and Europe have placed Nuno high on the lists of replacements for their own managers, several of whom are already under pressure in the early stages of the campaign.
It means that Forest could realistically come up against their former boss at some point this season.
