Liverpool have made some huge signings so far this summer but they could attempt to make their most audacious one yet.
The Reds have arguably been the most active team in the transfer market this summer, and their business is far from done yet.
They still want to add a centre-back, striker and a winger to their ranks, with the latter perhaps one of the most important if they sell Luis Diaz.
The Colombian is wanted by both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with Liverpool setting an asking price of £72.5m, a hefty fee that could be put to great use when searching for a replacement.
There is one Premier League star in particular who could be on the move very soon, and he is a player Jurgen Klopp absolutely loved, suggesting that now might be the best chance to get him through the door at Anfield, however unlikely that may seem.

Granted, Liverpool attempting to sign any Arsenal player whatsoever seems highly unlikely, but there is no denying that Gabriel Martinelli would be a decent signing for the Reds, especially if he can rekindle some of that old form.
All the reasons for it make a lot of sense, but actually completing the deal would be the near-impossible task, but who says it isn’t worth at least trying?
Arsenal are linked with many wingers, including Rodrygo, Eberechi Eze and Noni Madueke, all players who could take the Brazilian’s position.

Liverpool will also likely need a replacement for Diaz as his exit seems almost guaranteed, with an already Premier League-proven player something that would make the transition seamless.

The Gunners might not be opposed to cashing in on him based on his recent form and the fact they could have better additions this summer, although they would only sell to Liverpool for an absolute fortune.
If he played for any other club, most would be praising any attempt for his signature, and there is certainly no harm in trying as the player himself might fancy the switch.
Another factor that would have made this deal more likely was if Jurgen Klopp was still in charge, as he absolutely loved the Brazilian.
In fact, he even went as far once as labelling him as the ‘talent of the century’ after he excelled against the Reds during a 5-5 Carabao Cup draw at Anfield back in 2019.
“Martinelli’s pretty much the same age (as my young team) but he’s a talent of the century, he’s an incredible striker, so it’s really difficult,” Klopp said on Sky Sports as per the Liverpool Echo.
“So young, looks so mature already, is a proper threat.
Yeah, he looks like a really decent player.”
He has, indeed, turned into a decent player and would make a great addition to the Reds this summer, although it’s safe to say Liverpool would need a miracle to pull it off.
