Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez is on the verge of a move to Al-Hilal.
Nunez was widely anticipated to leave Anfield this summer with the Saudi Pro League outfit among several clubs establishing their interest in the window.
The Uruguay international produced just five goals from 47 games in all competitions last season as the Reds clinched the Premier League title.
AC Milan and Napoli previously considered moving for Nunez but were deterred by the likely financial details with Arne Slot’s side aiming to recoup up to £60 million.
Al-Hilal’s rivals Al-Nassr are understood to have seen a similar figure for the 26-year-old in January but were rebuffed due to Liverpool prioritising their title charge.
However an initial £46M package has been agreed between the Kingdom club and Anfield chiefs to bring the curtain down on Nunez’s three-year stay on Merseyside.
His sale will bring Liverpool’s recouped value on players trading over the quarter of a billion mark since Richard Hughes’ arrival as sporting director last summer.
Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott could take that figure even higher with the latter drawing interest from RB Leipzig as they are braced for Xavi Simons’ potential exit.
