Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking forward to working with one player in particular after becoming the new West Ham boss.

Graham Potter has been sacked by West Ham just two days before their clash with Everton on Monday, 29 September, allowing him to take training during the week and speak in a press conference.

Football Insider understood that Nuno would be in charge against Everton, just days after being relieved of his duties at Nottingham Forest, but it has not been a surprise at all for the supporters.

The Hammers are in desperate need of a victory, with the team currently sitting inside the Premier League relegation zone, only above bottom-place Wolves by three points.

Leaking goals has been a huge problem so far this season, with no team in the division conceding more, but it is one of the defenders who could be excited to work with the manager once again.

One player in the squad who thrived under Nuno’s leadership was Max Kilman, when the duo spent a total of three years together at Wolves before the manager left for Tottenham in 2021.

During those seasons, the Old Gold pushed the boundaries in the Premier League, finishing seventh twice before dropping down to 13th, but it is certainly good reading for West Ham fans.

“He works very hard, he knows what he has to improve, and he’s become stronger as time has gone by,” but it will take more than just a change of manager for the fans to change their minds about the defender.

The West Ham players are shocked by the treatment of Potter, according to Roshane Thomas, but the events have not come as a surprise to the match-going fans at the London Stadium.

He has been under crushing pressure ever since David Sullivan decided to replace Julen Lopetegui, and the players have been accused of downing their tools over the last few weeks.

Of course, the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tomas Soucek, and Lucas Paqueta play with their heart on their sleeves, and they are some of the only players who can keep their heads high.

Kilman has had a very difficult time under Potter, but if Nuno can help him rediscover his previous form from his days at Molineux Stadium, he should be able to win the fans back this season.
