Morgan Gibbs-White is set to feature alongside a very different Nottingham Forest attack when the new season kicks off.
Anthony Elanga has sealed his £55million move to Newcastle United [BBC Sport], with Nuno Espirito Santo looking to Dan Ndoye and Igor Jesus to restock the forward line.
Getting Gibbs-White to sign a new deal at the City Ground was, arguably, the most important piece of business that the Reds were going to do all summer, keeping him from joining Tottenham.
Some have suggested that Gibbs-White could still force through a January move to Spurs, but with a new contract signed until 2028, those at the City Ground are not worried about his future prospects.

However, with multiple changes being made to the squad and various rumours surrounding defensive midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, the 25-year-old may have more work on his hands than previously expected.
With seven goals and eight assists last season, he was vital to the Reds getting back into Europe for the first time in 30 years, being boosted to the Europa League thanks to Crystal Palace’s demotion.

The England international is never afraid of smashing into a challenge, but there is absolutely no doubt that his talents lie in the final third, and Forest’s next possible signing should unshackle him completely.
According to FootMercato (11 August), Forest have lodged an official bid for Monaco’s Soungoutou Magassa, who has become an integral part of the squad in Ligue 1 at just 21 years of age.
One of his most comparable players in Europe’s top five leagues [FBref] is Real Madrid’s Eduardo Camavinga, and delving into the stats, it is clear to see exactly why.
Magassa ranks in the top 97th and 96th percentiles for tackles and interceptions, while the latter ranks in the top 98th and 88th, suggesting the two are very similarly matched when it comes to breaking up play.
In fact, last season, the Monaco star racked up more tackles, especially in the final third, more dribbles challenged, and more interceptions, impressing statistically more than someone who has played for Real Madrid for the last four campaigns.
Bringing in a defensive talent such as Magassa looks like it would be incredibly beneficial for Forest’s Premier League and Europa League campaigns, allowing the attacking stars to do what they do best.
That is exactly why Gibbs-White will be keeping a fixed eye on proceedings after his club submitted an official bid, as it could be the difference between a good season for him and an excellent one.
