Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after the club posted a six-second video of Nat Phillips at the AXA Training Centre.

The footage in question shows Liverpool’s No.47 doing a finishing drill in training, where he’s up against Adrian.

Phillips takes a neat touch with his heel, which puts him through on goal.

The 24-year-old then slots the ball cooly past the Spaniard in between the sticks.

It was a nice goal, but it was nothing to write home about, which seems to be what some Liverpool fans thought of the club’s tweet.

One supporter asked what the club has come to, now they’re posting videos of Phillips scoring goals in training with no defender anywhere near him.

Another fan felt that the tweet was ‘patronising’ – in truth, we agree.

If we’re being quite negative – or realistic – the centre-back’s first touch was far too heavy, and any defender would’ve hoovered the ball up with ease in a proper match.

In fact, Adrian could’ve just come out to pick the ball up, seeing as the touch was so heavy.

We’re sure it was just a bit of fun at the end of the session, rather than one of Jürgen Klopp’s main drills.

It feels highly unlikely that the German would use valuable training time teaching the £64,615-a-week man to score goals.

Despite that, some fans below aren’t very happy with the tweet.

In our view, Liverpool’s Twitter account hasn’t really read the room here.

The Reds are struggling in the Premier League, and are going to end the campaign without a trophy.

In that respect, fans won’t be interested in watching a man who is arguably Klopp’s fifth-choice centre-back – when everyone is fit – score goals.

Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the club’s tweet on Phillips…
