Oliver Glasner has given an intriguing view into his mindset amid interest in both Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi.
Liverpool FC are keen on the Crystal Palace captain, as DaveOCKOP.com revealed back in March already.
With Guehi’s contract at Crystal Palace expiring next summer, Liverpool believe they have a unique chance to secure the Chelsea academy graduate for a fee below market value.
Guehi’s homegrown status is another important factor for Liverpool, as it helps satisfy the Premier League’s squad registration rules.
DaveOCKOP.com exclusively reported on Tuesday that Liverpool are hopeful of finalizing the signing of the England international this week.
A medical is in the works from Liverpool’s side, with the transfer fee expected to be around £40 million, slightly less than Crystal Palace’s initial £45 million asking price.
If all goes smoothly, Guehi could complete his move to Anfield by the end of the week.
Now Palace boss Oliver Glasner has dropped yet more hints on the futures of both Eberechi Eze – who is in talks to join Tottenham Hotspurs – and Guehi:
In his press conference ahead of the first-leg play-off against Fredrikstad, Glasner fist confirmed that the duo will be in the starting lineup:
“Most of you will be surprised that they will start again tomorrow because of all the rumours,” the Austrian said.
“But again, they are committed.
They have a contract here.”
“They played a crucial part so that we could be that successful?
And they will play a crucial part as long as they are here, because they are good, they are committed to the team.”
The Eagles boss then suggested that’s it’s a matter of when and not if for one of the pair to leave this summer:
“And when one of the players will leave, I don’t know at the moment, then they want to leave as the guys who always give 100 percent for Crystal Palace.
“This is what they did since they signed many years ago, and this is what we expect from them until the end of their contract, whenever this is.”
