Marc Guehi has made his feelings clear after the Crystal Palace star’s summer move to Liverpool fell through on transfer deadline day.
Guehi had completed his Liverpool medical ahead of signing across the dotted line at Anfield, only for Oliver Glasner to pull out of the deal due to being unable to find a suitable replacement.
West Ham hijacked a move for Igor Julio, who was seen as the ideal signing to replace their outgoing centre-back, which caused everything to come crumbling down on transfer deadline day.
Football Insider understands that Guehi now has his heart set on Real Madrid, with the player now blaming the Reds for his failed move away from Selhurst Park last month.
Now, Glasner has revealed his private conversations with the player behind the scenes.

Much has been made about Guehi’s future, even more so after the transfer window slammed shut, but Glasner has told the rest of the world what the player has said to him behind the curtain.
Speaking to the media (26 September), Glasner said: “Of course, Guehi was a little bit disappointed after the Liverpool saga,” as the defender’s move to Anfield fell through at the 11th hour.

He continued: “But then he said, ‘No, it’s fine, I like being here, I like the team, I like the staff, I like Crystal Palace, I’m a south London boy, I will give my best.’“

The 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength since arriving at Selhurst Park in 2021, with 164 appearances now under his belt after leaving Chelsea.
Speaking after the transfer collapse, Arne Slot said, “I think it would be a bit ridiculous if I deny that we were close to signing him.
It was so out in the open that it would be ridiculous.
“It’s a pity, not only for us but also for the player.
But he’s in a good place playing at Palace, where he won the Charity Shield and FA Cup with a very good manager.”
It is not very often that managers speak about possible transfers out of respect for their rival clubs, but it was very apparent just how close the move was before its collapse this summer.
Liverpool are in desperate need of a new defender as Ibrahima Konate‘s future remains a talking point ahead of next summer, and Guehi would have slotted into the back line perfectly.
