Omari Hutchinson’s Ipswich Town future remains unclear amid Premier League interest in the Tractor Boys star.

After notching three goals and two assists in 31 top-flight appearances last term, Hutchinson has been eyed by Brentford.

The Bees need fresh attacking talent after losing former star man Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United this summer.

Meanwhile, Hutchinson has also attracted interest from Everton, as well as Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig, as exclusively revealed by Football Insider last month.

After suffering relegation to the Championship with Ipswich last term, Hutchinson enhanced his chances of making an immediate Premier League return by performing well for England in the Under-21 European Championship.

The winger showcased his direct dribbling ability for the Young Lions, while scoring one goal in six appearances.

Meanwhile, as reported by talkSPORT on Wednesday, 13 August, Hutchinson opted out of playing in his side’s Carabao Cup clash with Bromley on Tuesday amid the transfer interest in his services.

Such actions are highly unlikely to have impressed his Premier League suitors, who may now be concerned by his attitude.

Consequently, Hutchinson may have to remain in the Championship with Ipswich for another season.

If Hutchinson can’t secure a Premier League move thanks to his Carabao Cup snub, he will have to knuckle down at Ipswich and repair his existing relationships at Portman Road.

Meanwhile, Wrexham are set to sign Nathan Broadhead, which comes as a blow to Kieran McKenna’s chances of guiding the Suffolk side to their second promotion in three seasons.

But if Hutchinson remains at Ipswich, he is capable of firing the Tractor Boys back to the Premier League, should he re-establish his best form.

When Ipswich clinched automatic promotion to the top flight in 2023, the 21-year-old excelled by notching 10 goals and five assists in 44 Championship appearances.

Those exploits suggest that he can perform in the second tier once again, if he does not seal his dream move to a Premier League club this summer.

Meanwhile, Ipswich’s defeat to Bromley on 12 August shows that they could struggle without Hutchinson if he departs.
