The transfer saga between Liverpool and Alexander Isak continues to drag on and imminent action is needed if anything is going to change.
The Reds have, largely, been chasing Isak all summer, with a move becoming a genuine possibility when the striker did not go on Newcastle’s pre-season tour of Asia.
Since then, things have only spiralled a little out of control, with the whole situation incredibly messy and something the Magpies could really have done without happening.
Now, Isak has insisted that he will never play for Newcastle again, a bold move that will make matters worse, but will only help strengthen Liverpool’s position.
With this situation looking beyond the point of no return, former Red Don Hutchison believes that Isak must do something right away or else his reputation will truly be destroyed forever, if it isn’t already that is.

Sometimes in football agents simply do not have the player’s best interests at heart and all they care about is the money involved, with the fee they command something that can really put clubs off.
In this situation, a lot of the speculation is said to be agent-driven, with this potentially why everything has been played out so publicly.
And as this situation starts to become untenable, former Liverpool player Hutchison believes Isak needs to sack his agent for the sake of his own image.

“Footballers, even though they have a say and an opinion, generally take the advice from their agent.
The agent has handled this saga incredibly badly.
The agent is hanging his player out to dry for the money.”
If the Swede was to do this, however, it might be a little too late and the damage might already be done, especially given the fact that Newcastle are one of the most loyal, and therefore unforgiving, fanbases in England.
Often in football, the biggest players have the most notorious agents, with their client list usually being stacked with top talent.
One of Isak’s main agents, though, Gonzalo Gaitan, is a little different from the rest as his list of clients is far from illustrious.
Other than the Swede, the only other really notable names he represents are Emiliano Martinez, Emiliano Buendia and ex-Man United midfielder Nemanja Matic.
Whether his agent is just looking for a hefty pay day or whether Isak genuinely has his heart set on Anfield will likely never be found out, but what will be is whether the striker ends up joining before the end of the transfer window.
