Liverpool are moving with purpose in the transfer market once again as they attempt to bolster their attacking ranks.
The Reds have had a busy few days having initially approached Newcastle United for Alexander Isak, before pivoting towards Hugo Ekitike.
Liverpool are moving quickly on Ekitike, with reports suggesting that a deal could be tied up before the Reds fly to Asia on Sunday.
But, with uncertainty surrounding the futures of at least two of their current forwards, more additions cannot be ruled out.
Luis Diaz is attracting a huge amount of interest, and although Liverpool insist the winger is not for sale, there remains a chance he leaves before the window is over.
If Diaz goes, Liverpool will likely need to replace him.
Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes has been mentioned as a target, but according to journalist Ben Jacobs, there is a player who Reds supporters should be keeping a closer eye on.

Rodrygo is a big name who could be on the market this summer and the appeal of bringing him to Anfield is obvious.
But, speaking to Liverpool streamer Grizz Khan on YouTube, Jacobs says Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon is currently a more firm target than the Brazilian.

“There will be a chance, if the left side is being strengthened, that Liverpool re-visit Anthony Gordon,” the reporter claims.
With Anthony Gordon it is more than that.”

“12 months ago they had a deal in place to be done.
“Suddenly Newcastle were able to pivot because they were reluctant sellers and they found the money another way,” Jacobs adds.
“Given that was only 12 months ago, don’t just think about Rodrygo, if Diaz leaves, there may well be a possibility that a revisited approach for Anthony Gordon is made.”
After Liverpool tried to sign Isak earlier this week, there have been some bold statements online – largely from Newcastle supporters – that the Reds have irrevocably ruined the relationship between these two clubs.

However, according to Jacobs, those suggestions are total nonsense.
In fact, the reporter says Liverpool and Newcastle have a healthy working relationship, with Toon boss Eddie Howe and Reds sporting director Richard Hughes good friends.
“Liverpool have a really good relationship with Newcastle United, make no mistake,” he confirms.
“Regardless of what is said in public, to suggest Liverpool have somehow crossed the line in daring to be ambitious and sign a world-class player, Newcastle understand that.
Richard Hughes and Eddie Howe by the way have a long-standing relationship.”
With those lines of communication open, Liverpool potentially needing a left winger and the historic interest in Gordon – who joined Newcastle for £45m – factored in, it is easy to see how this could still be a live one.
