Chelsea supporters were left thrilled by one major aspect of their pre-season victory over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.

The West London side have enjoyed a historic summer, as they won the Club World Cup with an emphatic 3-0 win over Champions League holders PSG last month.

But Enzo Maresca’s attention has swiftly turned to preparing his side for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

The Stamford Bridge side host Crystal Palace in their first top-flight fixture of the 2025/26 season on Friday, 8 August.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have welcomed players like Jorrel Hato amid a busy summer transfer window.

The Blues enjoyed a 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen on Friday, 8 August thanks to goals from Estevao and Joao Pedro.

Maresca’s experimental selection saw several youngsters, such as Josh Acheampong and Tyrique George featuring alongside established first-team stars like Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella.

Estevao made himself a familiar name among the Chelsea faithful by scoring against Maresca’s men for Palmeiras in the Club World Cup quarter-final.

But he further enhanced his status as a promising prospect by dazzling on debut for the West Londoners against Leverkusen, displaying bags of trickery before showing his clinical instincts by scoring.

After the 18-year-old scored against the Bundesliga side on home soil, Chelsea’s X account shared: “The boy from Brazil, Estevao makes it 1-0!”

One supporter commented: “We found our Neymar”, while another said: “Our future legend is having a stunning game.”

Estevao will hope to continue impressing when Chelsea face AC Milan in their next pre-season outing on Sunday, 10 August.

The Italian giants have already beaten Premier League champions Liverpool and lost to Arsenal this summer, while they take on Leeds United in Dublin on Saturday, 9 August.
