How supporters rate Liverpool’s summer transfer business will depend on what plays out in the week before the window shuts.
The Reds have acted decisively in doing some excellent wheeling and dealing, but there are one or two question marks that remain.
The biggest of these hangs over Liverpool‘s forward line, with nervousness growing that Arne Slot will miss out on top target Alexander Isak and will not sign anyone else.
However, while the incoming deals always take the focus, there may be some who are quietly concerned at how many players Liverpool have let go this summer.
Within that, Tyler Morton and his move to Lyon may not be the most obvious object for fans’ frustration.
Morton only made five appearances last season after all and was seemingly not in Slot’s plans.
But as the 22-year-old continues to go from strength to strength in France, a clamour may start to form to bring Morton back home to Liverpool.

The Liverpool midfield has been the one area of the team which has been left alone in terms of incomings this summer.
On paper, that is absolutely fine.
The Liverpool squad has at least five top quality midfielders and a couple more back-ups in reserve.

However, the one thing Slot is arguably lacking just now is a direct understudy for Ryan Gravenberch.
If the Dutchman gets injured, Liverpool will be up the creek without a paddle.
Morton could have been that player, and if something does happen to Gravenberch, Liverpool may decide that next summer they do in fact need someone of that ilk.

If another deep-lying midfielder is the focus of the Reds’ transfer attention, then it would be no surprise if Morton is in the thinking.
The Liverpool academy graduate has started brilliantly at Lyon, stepping straight into the midfield of one of France’s biggest clubs and completely running the show.
Morton was named man of the match by supporters after the 3-0 win over Metz on Saturday, while the official Ligue 1 account on X declared that Lyon’s Groupama Stadium had become the midfielder’s ‘garden.’ Liverpool should be watching with interest.
It may be a step down from Liverpool, but becoming one of the main players so soon at Lyon just shows the quality Morton possesses.
Jurgen Klopp called Morton ‘outstanding‘ as he was breaking through at Anfield, and it has long been clear that the Merseysider is destined for a very good career in the game.
Playing regularly at a club the size of Lyon should allow Morton to go from strength to strength, and if he carries on the way he is, even bigger sides will start to take notice.
Given his allegiances to Liverpool, the Reds could put themselves back to the front of the queue if that does happen.
Morton may want assurances in terms of playing time, but if they can give him that, it would not be a surprise to see the England U21 star return home in the future.
For now, though, it is all about seeing just how high Morton can reach at Lyon.
