Simon Jordan was irritated by the idea of a possible Russell Martin replacement at Rangers after their dreadful start to the season.
The 2-0 defeat to Hearts on the weekend (13 September) left Rangers fans demanding Martin be sacked and to exit from the Ibrox.
Rangers fans were heard chanting “you’re getting sacked in the morning” to Martin as they remain winless in the Scottish Premiership.
Once again, the number 43 was left out of the match day squad against Hearts as Ally McCoist demanded an answer from Martin to why Nicolas Raskin is not playing for Rangers.
All the irritation in Glasgow has seen fingers pointed at the board to be rid of the former Southampton manager as ex-Crystal Palace chairman Jordan laughed at the suggestion that Barry Ferguson could return.

Speaking on talkSPORT (15 September) to angry and upset Gers fans, one supporter raised the possibility of a comeback for Ferguson after he guided the Teddy Bears for the remainder of the 2024-25 campaign.
Jordan was in disbelief at the proposal, retorting: “I fully understand the ramifications of people wanting to travel and go to football matches, not feeling they’re getting what they’re paying for.

“The fact of the matter is who do you replace him with.
Barry Ferguson?
Good luck, go down that route see how far it gets you… turn a hero to a zero overnight.”
Whilst the ex-Palace chairman is in total disagreement with the idea of the former Blackpool manager coming back to the Ibrox for a second stint it isn’t the worst idea imaginable.
Ferguson was well-regarded as a player and his short tenure as head coach of the Gers was well-received by the fans.
The Scotsman helped to take Rangers to the Europa League quarter-final where they lost to Athletic Club in a tight defeat.

Moreover, he ensured that after a shaky start to the season the blue half of Glasgow finished second behind rivals Celtic in the league.
Therefore, arguably, the ex-Alloa Athletic boss has got a decent record and could be called upon in case the sinking ship of Martin fails to float.
Potentially, his legacy at the club could be tainted but there is also a worthwhile case for the former Gers midfielder to take up the reigns again at the Ibrox.
