Paddy Pimblett has insisted he will not fight a ranked opponent unless his pay from the UFC significantly improves.

The Liverpool fan favourite made a blistering start to life in the organisation with a first round knockout of Luigi Vendramini last month but slammed the brakes on talk of a much higher ranked opponent.

The UFC could bide their time with the 26-year-old former Cage Warriors champion and when asked if he would be fast-tracked, Pimblett admitted he does not expect it.

'No, I think they'll do the opposite,' Pimblett said on the Anything Goes podcast.

Slowly, but surely he's fighting different people, different people.

Pimblett recently signed a seven-figure deal as a representative of Barstool Sports and evidently has a clear idea of his value.

It remains to be seen who Pimblett will fight next but he was recently called out by American Jared Gordon and simply replied: 'Let's do this.
