Leeds supporters are not happy after a new update on Noah Okafor’s fitness was revealed while the club look to move on another winger in Largie Ramazani.

Daniel Farke has been after new forward signings following Leeds‘ promotion to the Premier League, and his need for new additions has only been heightened after their last two poor showings against Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday.

Noah Okafor signed for Leeds from AC Milan last week for a reported £18million [BBC] fee after he spent time out on loan at Napoli last season and helped them to the Serie A title.

The Swiss international is capable of operating as a centre-forward or on either flank, and has arrived at Elland Road in the hope of aiding Leeds’ survival efforts after he struggled to make much of an impact at the San Siro following a 2023 move from RB Salzburg.

Okafor made his Whites debut in their 5-0 loss at Arsenal on Saturday (23 August), then started in their Carabao Cup penalty defeat against the Owls on Tuesday (26 August), and now looks unlikely to play any part against Newcastle this weekend, much to the annoyance of Leeds supporters.

Leeds boss Farke has revealed a new update on Okafor’s fitness in his press conference ahead of their game against Newcastle, with The Athletic’s Beren Cross sharing on X that he had said: “Noah spoke about groin problems after the last game.

Noah is the only major doubt at the weekend.”

Okafor’s injury problems are nothing new, with Transfermarkt claiming that he missed 13 games with six different issues last season while at Milan and Napoli, while four injuries caused him to sit out of 14 matches in 2023/24 and he similarly missed 13 games in the campaign before that.
