Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak are undoubtedly two of the best pieces of transfer business that Liverpool could have pulled off this summer.

It was clear that the Reds’ ranks needed upgrading across the board, that is, even though they won the Premier League title last season.

When the transfer window first opened in June, plenty of rumours about Isak’s future were emerging, but since Liverpool got the deal for Wirtz done so quickly, fans likely didn’t expect to see Liverpool break the British record transfer fee for Isak.

In the end, however, that’s how things panned out with a journalist now sharing a new insight into how the Isak and Wirtz deals look for the Anfield outfit this season.

When both transfer fees are added up, including the add-ons in Wirtz’s deal, the total comes out to around £241million.

And, while this is a small fortune, Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards have set up payment plans to make future transfer windows easier for them to conduct.

Wirtz’s will be five years of equal payments while Isak’s will be spread ‘over four years.’

Joyce then adds that, with this in mind, the transfers of the duo will only cost Liverpool around £51.25million this summer.

So far this season, Liverpool have played four competitive games, and while they’ve won all three of their Premier League games, they did lose the Community Shield final to Crystal Palace at the start of the season.

As mentioned, even though the Reds have nine points to their name at the moment, there were certainly some dodgy moments throughout each of the clashes.
