And now, as per a fresh report from The Times journalist Paul Joyce via his personal X account, it seems like a deal is closer than many think.
“Medical to begin today after Giovanni Leoni given permission to travel to complete Liverpool move,” he wrote.

And, since Leoni is still only 18 years old, once he’s trained with Liverpool for the next three seasons, he’ll be classed as homegrown at the club, which makes things such as registering much easier.
Indeed, only time will tell whether the fee worth around £30million for the centre-back will be too much for the youngster, but on the face of things, it looks like a rather solid deal.
