Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes believes Roberto Firmino's form has been the biggest disappointment for Liverpool in recent matches.
"They’re not creating chances, but at times, they’re controlling games, but the big disappointment for me has been Firmino.
That was Liverpool's fourth league defeat in a row too, with Jurgen Klopp unable to muster a response from his players after their late collapse against Leicester City, despite beating RB Leipzig in midweek.
He’s a great footballer, but some of the chances [against Everton], he’s smashing everything.
I’m watching it and thinking it was going to be another walkover, really, they’re going to win the league by 10 or 15 points," Scholes told BT Sport.
Reflecting on Liverpool's downturn, Scholes believes that Klopp's side aren't playing "that badly" but pinpointed Firmino's lack of contributions as a major worry.
The Brazilian striker has scored six Premier League goals all season but with only one of those coming since December 20.
