Pedro Neto is determined to win the FIFA Club World Cup in honour of Liverpool striker Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre Silva.
The pair were both killed in a car crash in the early hours of Thursday (July 3).
They had been travelling across Spain in order to catch a ferry to return to England ahead of the start of the Reds' pre-season when their vehicle veered off the road following a tyre blowout.
The brothers were laid to rest in their hometown of Gondomar on Saturday (July 5) with the majority of the Liverpool first team squad in attendance along with head coach Arne Slot and a number of club staff and officials to pay their respects.

Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo were also both present at the funeral, having flown in from the United States after playing in the FIFA Club World Cup for Al-Hilal barely 12 hours earlier.
But the likes of Neto and former Reds vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold were unable to attend due to their own FIFA Club World Cup commitments.
Neto, who played alongside Jota for both Portugal and Wolverhampton Wanderers, paid an emotional tribute to both the Liverpool forward and Silva, who played for Penafiel, ahead of their quarter-final win over Palmeiras as he walked out carrying a shirt bearing both of their names.

And after helping Chelsea book their place in the final by beating Fluminense 2-0, setting up a showdown with either Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain, Neto has dedicated the Londoners’ appearance in the showpiece to both Jota and Silva.
“It’s been really difficult in the last few days and I just want to leave a message that this final is for him and his brother,” he said.
“It’s a really tough time for me, difficult to speak about it and let’s hope I can do it for him.
“But I want to dedicate this final to him and his family and show my support in these difficult times for them.
“We are really happy, really happy to reach the final and to get there is unbelievable.
“We are ready to win the final, play the final and we are determined to win it.

“We hope to finish in the best way.
It would be unbelievable, a dream come true and I’m really, really looking forward to playing this final and hopefully winning it on Sunday.”
