Trevoh Chalobah’s long-term future is still up for debate at Chelsea after his successful return to Enzo Maresca’s side.
Chelsea head into the new campaign following back-to-back successes late last season in both the UEFA Conference League and Club World Cup, and even bigger things are expected for the year ahead.
Enzo Maresca has strengthened significantly this summer with over £260million spent on new signings by Chelsea already, and a further £200m raised with the sales of Joao Felix, Noni Madueke and others.
Chalobah has been regularly linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, even though he made a successful comeback for the Blues after his spell at Crystal Palace in the first half of last season.
Chalobah’s mid-season return to Chelsea proved to be a success
Palace are seemingly at the front of the queue for Chalobah should Chelsea eventually decide to sell the 26-year-old this summer, with Mamadou Sarr and Jorrel Hato signed as potential centre-back options.
Chalobah played 19 times in all competitions for the Blues after being recalled by Maresca in January following a successful first half of the season at Selhurst Park, and played a key role in their success.

Football Insider Verdict
Chalobah’s return to Stamford Bridge has helped steer Maresca’s side towards back-to-back trophy lifts and earned the versatile defender a maiden England cap, yet his Chelsea future remains uncertain.
Chelsea have also made a shock U-turn on Renato Veiga’s future after his proposed move to Atletico Madrid collapsed, meaning yet more central defensive competition to potentially squeeze Chalobah out.
The Blues’ options at the back are plentiful in another summer of huge change in West London, but if any defender has earned their way to a potential starting berth next season, it’s surely Chalobah who should be given the nod.
