Former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Ljinders could be back to coaching in England, according to the latest reports.
Lijnders spent almost 10 years working as an assistant to Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool between 2014 and 2024.
The pair enjoyed plenty of success together at Anfield, winning one Premier League title, one Champions League title, one FA Cup and two League Cups among a host of other honours.
The Dutchamn followed Klopp out of the exit door after the German announced his decision to step down from his position at Anfield.
Lijnders decided to pursue a managerial career of his own, taking over at Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg last summer.
However, his spell in management in Austria did not go as planned.
The club fell behind in the Austrian Bundesliga title race and had a string of bad results in the Champions League.
Salzburg eventually parted company with Lijnders last December, after seven months in charge.
However, according to the latest report from The Telegraph, the former Klopp assistant could be back in management soon.
The report claims that “Norwich City are set to interview Lijnders as they advance their search for a new head coach.
Norwich are in search of a replacement for Johannes Hoff Thorup, who was surprisingly sacked last month after the club missed out on the play-offs.
Former Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere took interim charge of the Canaries after Thorup’s exit.
He was widely expected to be handed the permanent job after picking up four points from his two games at the helm to secure a 13th-placed finish.
However, The Telegraph claims that Norwich are looking elsewhere for a permanent coach, and Lijnders is among the options they are considering.
“It is understood that Lijnders will hold talks with the Norwich hierarchy later this week,” The Telegraph wrote.
However, the Dutchman is far from the only contender to succeed Thorup at Carrow Road.
The Telegraph claims that Gary O’Neil, who has been out of work since being sacked by Wolverhampton Wanderers in December, has already held discussions with the Canaries, and ex-Nottingham Forest and Leicester City manager Steve Cooper has also been “sounded out”.
In addition to his spells at Liverpool and Salzburg, Lijnders also briefly managed Dutch side NEC in 2018.
