The Premier League has seen some huge new arrivals this summer but Liverpool might just have the pick of the bunch.
The Reds are widely considered to have already won the transfer window and it is hard to argue against this after spending almost £300m.
Their overall business has been smart from start to finish, with Liverpool also banking over £200m from sales.
Arne Slot’s aim this season is to win back-to-back league titles, something only Jose Mourinho has done in his first two seasons in charge, showing just how hard a task this really is.
And, Liverpool’s rivals have only got stronger over the summer, with Arsenal finally getting a striker that they have been needing for so many seasons.
However, despite the Gunners looking like they have the final piece of their puzzle, Peter Crouch believes that the Reds have made a signing even better than Viktor Gyokeres.

When spending that amount of money, Liverpool fans will be hoping that the players they have brought in are up to standard, and some of them are definitely more than that.
Florian Wirtz is the best example, with the British-record signing still looking like it might be a bargain based on what he has shown over the summer.

He may have had a quiet debut by his standards but there were glimpses of what he could do, and Crouch still believes that he is the best signing of the window thus far.
“9/10, love him as a footballer,” Crouch said after being asked to rate the transfer out of 10 for a TikTok video on TNT Sports’ account.

Other footballing figures were asked and no one gave the German below a 7/10, with Joe Cole believing he is a nine because: “He is elite and he’s young, so it’s a no-brainer.”
As for Arsenal’s new signing Gyokeres, Crouch gave him a 7/10, mainly due to him being unproven.
“I’m gonna give him a 7/10.
Love him as a footballer and he’s a fantastic player, but still slightly unproven in the Premier League.”
As expected, all eyes were on the young German on Friday night as everyone wanted to get a glimpse of what he could do.
The pressure on his shoulders is certainly a lot, and it might be getting greater due to a rather average Premier League debut.
Wirtz could not quite get up to speed and lost the ball more often than he would have liked, something that rival fans were quick to jump on to ramp up the pressure even further.
However, he still showed some flashes of excellence and promising signs, suggesting that he just needs a little bit more time to adjust.
Liverpool’s next fixtures do not make it any easier, though, with a trip to Newcastle just before a game against Arsenal at Anfield, with the latter the match where Crouch’s rating can be proven either right or wrong.
