Phil Foden has been speaking on his feelings about Jurgen Klopp leaving at the end of the season.

The German’s farewell parade has hit some big speedbumps in recent weeks.

Liverpool’s exit from the Europa League at the hands of Atalanta was a bitter disappointment, especially considering the high expectations surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s final season.

It was always going to be difficult to overturn the damage done in the first leg.

After drawing with Manchester United and losing at home to Crystal Palace, the Reds finished a difficult 12-day stretch that saw them lose their advantage atop the Premier League.

Therefore, the title chase is once again in the spotlight with Liverpool currently in third place, two points behind leaders Manchester City and second-place Arsenal.

Phil Foden has plenty of experience going up against Liverpool for the title.

The rivalry between Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp originated during their time managing Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, respectively, and significantly deepened when they became the managers of Manchester City and Liverpool.

This fierce competition quickly turned the two clubs into formidable opponents.

During their respective tenures, both Manchester City and Liverpool consistently achieved Premier League points totals well into the 90s, a benchmark that was almost unheard of prior to their arrivals.

And now the England international has revealed his feelings about Klopp leaving at the end of the season.

What did Phil Foden say about Jurgen Klopp?

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail, the 23-year-old revealed that his side are going all-out for a fourth consecutive Premier League- an unprecedented achievement in English football:

“We understand it here,” Foden began.

“We know if we win the Premier League this time we will have done something new.

It’s something we have our eyes on.”

“Every time we put our boots on at the training ground that saying is there on the wall.”

“It says: ‘Nobody has won four Premier Leagues in a row…yet'”.

“We want to put ourselves in history”

“Every day I sit and look at that slogan and I think: “Why not?.'”

Of course, Manchester City will have to get through Liverpool and Arsenal in order to retain their crow.

The Gunners are relatively a newcomer on the title scene with their first legitimate e challenge last season.

But Man City and Liverpool have been battling it out for the coveted title more often than not in the past six seasons.

Phil Foden, who is playing the best football of his career this season, revealed his surprising  feelings on Klopp leaving.

“It’s a shame that Jurgen Klopp is leaving,” Foden admitted.

“He’s been brilliant?

To face his team isn’t nice but I think he is good for the game.”

“He has changed Liverpool and it will be sad to see him go.”

“I always want to play against the best.”
