Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has heaped praise on Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta’s summer transfer activity after the Gunners defeated Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Arteta’s recent additions proved vital as Arsenal beat Forest 3-0 on 13 September, with Martin Zubimendi notching a brace via goals either side of Viktor Gyokeres’ close-range strike.
The Emirates Stadium outfit have successfully bounced back from last month’s defeat at Liverpool, as they vie to win the Premier League title.
Meanwhile, Eberechi Eze produced an assist on his first Arsenal start, joining fellow new boys Zubimendi and Gyokeres in making a positive impact in North London.

While Zubimendi, Gyokeres, Eze, and Madueke all excelled in the final third for Arteta’s men, fellow Arsenal summer signing Cristhian Mosquera performed well in defence, helping his new club maintain a clean sheet.
Mosquera’s presence in the backline meant that the Gunners coped well without the injured William Saliba.
Meanwhile, taking to X after Arsenal’s big win, Morgan wrote: “From what I watched today, this summer was Arsenal’s best ever transfer window.

“Arteta and Berta have chosen perfect players to take us to a higher level, and they’ve all slotted in so quickly.
Very excited for the season.“
Morgan is right to outline that Arsenal enjoyed a hugely successful summer transfer window, while stars like Eze and Gyokeres proved their worth against Nottingham Forest.

However, such high-profile players were brought to the Emirates Stadium to help the Gunners beat defending champions Liverpool to the Premier League title.
While the North Londoners have performed impressively in their comprehensive wins over Leeds United and Nottingham Forest, Arsenal were less convincing in their 1-0 victory over Manchester United, while they were beaten in a crucial clash with Liverpool before the international break.
Therefore, the likes of Zubimendi and Mosquera must play their best football once more when Arteta’s side begin their Champions League campaign against Athletic Club, before facing tougher Premier League opponents Newcastle United and Manchester City this month.
The Gunners’ success this season will hinge on how they fare against fellow title challengers like Chelsea and Liverpool, rather than a Forest side who are under the stewardship of new boss Ange Postecoglou.
