Merseyside Police have informed the public that a car crash during Liverpool’s Premier League title celebrations is not being treated as an act of terrorism.

Once the trophy parade had drawn to a close, a black SUV was spotted barreling into Liverpool fans that remained gathered on Water Street near the end of the 10-mile route.





In light of the tragic event, Meyerside Police announced in a statement that a 53-year-old "white British man" from the Liverpool area was detained.





During an ensuing press conference, deputy chief constable Jenny Sims shared that officials believe that the car crash was an isolated incident that is not being treated as terrorism.

Police are not actively looking for anyone else related to it.

"The car stopped at the scene and a 53 year old white British man from the Liverpool area was arrested," Sims stated.
