Harvey Elliott is headed toward the exit door after precious little game time in the 2024-25 season.

A big fan of the club, the 22-year-old would ideally want to remain on Merseyside but is well aware that he needs to move on to get the minutes he wants.

The attacking midfielder only made two Premier League starts under Arne Slot, with those appearances only coming after the Premier League title had already been wrapped up.

Elliott managed only 826 minutes of game time across all competitions in 2024-25, a dramatic reduction from the 2,776 minutes he accumulated during Jurgen Klopp’s final season.

But the 22-year-old enjoyed a stellar summer at the Under-21 European Championship in Slovakia, where he was named Player of the Tournament after scoring five goals in six matches to help England retain their crown.

His performances for the Young Lions came after a frustrating campaign under Slot, which makes his tournament arguably even more special as he was not in a long rhythm of playing games prior.

DaveOCKOP.com can now reveal that Harvey Elliott and his entourage are awaiting a formal offer from RB Leipzig ahead of a proposed move.

We can reveal that the Liverpool man has had positives discussion with the Bundesliga side, with the relationship good during the negotiations.

Discussions are ongoing, with Leipzig’s director of football Marcel Schäfer believed to be heading talks.

The club is currently occupied with the outgoing Benjamin Sesko deal, who is tending toward joining Manchester United over Newcastle.

When that deal is wrapped up, the German outfit can turn their attention to Elliott.

RB Leipzig have identified Elliott as the ideal replacement for Xavi Simons, who is expected to complete his move to Chelsea imminently.

The Bundesliga side view the Liverpool academy graduate as a like-for-like replacement capable of filling the creative void left by the Dutch international’s departure.

It has been reported that Liverpool wants a fee of £40M for Elliott with a buy-back option or £50M without one.

The potential departure would mark the end of Elliott’s six-year association with Liverpool, having joined from Fulham in 2019 for £1.7 million.

He has won multiple honours during his time at Anfield, including two Premier League titles.

A fan favourite, his time at Anfield will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege to watch him in the red shirt.
