Liverpool may have been handed a potential boost in their pursuit of German midfielder Angelo Stiller.
Liverpool is said to be one of the clubs interested in the player.
The Reds are eyeing a midfield signing this summer, and recent reports from Germany claim that they are watching Stiller.
The midfielder, who has been nicknamed ‘Toni Kroos regen’ is said to be high on Liverpool’s list as a potential alternative to Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
When Liverpool failed in their pursuit of Zubimendi last summer, they considered Stiller an alternative but opted to keep what they had.
Angelo Stiller.
They claim that Stiller is now being seriously considered for the summer window.
Stuttgart would reportedly start to consider a sale if an offer of around €60 million is made, a figure that could make the club “think twice” despite Stiller’s importance to their team.
The German international has impressed this season, and Liverpool’s interest is seen as very concrete at this stage.
And now, according to Chief BILD reporter Christian Falk, who was one of those to report Liverpool’s interest in Stiller, the club’s chances of signing the 24-year-old have been boosted by the issues at other clubs that are interested in him.
Falk reports that although Barcelona are interested in Stiller, they will be unable to sign the German due to their financial struggles
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, who released the player in 2021, are interested in bringing him back to the Allianz Arena, but may be unable to pursue him because they have too many players in his position.
As a result of these, Falk argues that Stiller is most likely going to move to the Premier League.
“I know that clubs like Barcelona and Arsenal have eyes on Angelo Stiller,” Falk wrote in his latest column.
“The Bundesliga midfielder has a release clause (€36.5m [£30.9m]) that clubs can activate in 2026
Of course, the frustration for Bayern is that the player originally hails from Munich and left the club on a free (joining Hoffenheim in 2021).
“This is a bitter pill for Bayern to swallow, in light of his development and the fact that they would now have to spend money to bring the German national star back
I think Barcelona can’t afford to buy him, so the future of Angelo Stiller could very well be in the Premier League
