The Premier League is approaching its conclusion for the 2024/25 season, and talkSPORT is here to bring you all the latest.

Manchester United's recent torrid domestic run continued after being on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller at Brentford.

Tottenham, who also have an eye on their Europa League semi-final second legs next week, battled to a 1-1 draw against West Ham.

Elsewhere, Manchester City are now just three points behind Arsenal in the race for second after the Gunners lost 2-1 to Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are set to receive their first guard of honour since becoming champions when they battle Chelsea this evening.

Ruben Amorim, speaking to Sky Sports, on Matthijs de Ligt injury: "I don't know, so I'm really concerned - not about Thursday.

At this moment, we are losing games in the Premier League.

We are fighting for the Europa league and Thursday is the most important game for us."

On next season: "We are not ready to play Premier League competitively and be in the Champions League, but we need to win and we need to win this competition to give something to our fans.

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, speaking to Sky Sports: "Equally pleased about both [getting a draw and no injuries].

"We knew it was going to be a tough game, we made a lot of changes, which doesn't help the cohesion and fluency, but the lads worked really hard.

"We only made one sub, and a lot of them had to play a lot more minutes than they're used to recently.

"Away from home in a derby, we managed to get a result out of that, rest a few and come away unscathed."

On resting players: "It's about being sensible more than anything else.

That hasn't eased up in the last week or so.

"We've had to manage this because we've got a massive opportunity in Europe, and that's got to be balanced with our responsibilities in the league."

On Solanke and Maddison: "We'll see, Dom's improving, we don't expect any issues with him, but it made no sense to bring him along today.

"Madders is a bit more of a worry, we'll get more information the next day or so, but yeah, he's the one that's probably the bigger concern."

Newcastle's late penalty has kept them within touching distance of Manchester City, who sit in third position.

Brentford keep their hopes of qualifying for Europe alive by climbing the table into ninth following their 4-3 win over Man United.

The Red Devils, meanwhile, are slumped in 15th, above Tottenham and West Ham, who played out a 1-1 draw.

Mount opened the scoring before Damsgaard forced a leveller courtesy of a Shaw own-goal.

Schade's double put the Bees in a commanding position, with Wissa adding a goal that seemed to have put the result beyond doubt.

However, a late flurry from Garnacho and Amad forced Brentford to see out the final few minutes, which they duly did.

West Ham 1-1 Tottenham

Odobert scored his first Premier League goal for Spurs before Bowen slotted between Vicario’s legs to share the spoils in east London.

Brighton 1-0 Newcastle

Minteh, a player Toon boss Howe didn’t want to sell, scored against his old club before the Magpies launched a second-half fightback.

Three penalties were awarded to the visitors, with only the third and final one being allowed to stand after VAR checks.

And Isak made no mistake from the spot!

It's shocking goalkeeping from Flekken, who may have been unsighted by a deflection off Van den Berg.

Amad shot's looked to have lacked any real power but somehow found its way through the legs of Flekken into the back of the net.

ISAK MAKES NO MISTAKE FROM THE SPOT!!

Isak has scored his 23rd Premier League goal this season - the most by any Newcastle player since Alan Shearer's 22 in 2003/04.

That could be a massive goal from the Magpies in their push to secure a top-five finish.

THE MAGPIES HAVE BEEN AWARDED THEIR THIRD PENALTY!

A challenge by Lamptey on Gordon was initially given as a penalty, before VAR showed it was outside the box.

Van Hecke was then seemingly punished for a trip on Willock that VAR reversed into a Brighton free-kick, and a yellow card for diving.

However, there can be no denying this third one - Schar's strike from a free-kick hits the outstretched hand of Ayari.

What a goal from the Argentine!

He assisted the opener and has now put himself on the scoresheet, albeit with nothing more than a consolation strike.

As it is, it's still wonderful technique from Garnacho to bend the ball into the far top corner from the edge of the box.

Garnacho has now scored 2 goals in 4 appearances in the Premier League against Brentford.

It is his sixth goal in the Premier League this season, netting for the first time since 13th April 2025 against Newcastle.

Paqueta looks to have burst into tears after receiving a yellow card from referee Michael Oliver.

It was a cynical trip from the Brazilian on Spurs' teenage substitute Moore, but not sure what warranted his emotional reaction.

He's then withdrawn moments later by West Ham boss Potter, and still looks teary-eyed as he leaves the pitch.

On come Coufal, Soler, Ward-Prowse and Ferguson for Todibo, Soucek, Paqueta and Fullkrug.

Liverpool, meanwhile, make six changes from the team who beat Spurs 5-1 to win the title last weekend.

WHAT A STOP FROM BAYINDIR!

It should be a third goal from the home side, which could possibly finish the Red Devils before half-time.

However, the visitors are indebted to their deputy goalkeeper after Ugarte concedes a sloppy free-kick on the edge of the area.

It's swung in from the first, and Norgaard gets attacks it at the near post with a flicked header, but Bayindir keeps it out off the line.

It has been 30 minutes since Manchester United last attempted a shot in this game - they desperately need half-time...

Captain Norgaard gets to the byline before standing up a deep cross, that both Mbeumo and Schade attack.

It's the latter who rises highest to head down past Bayindir for his ninth Premier League goal of the season.

United are unhappy because they had De Ligt down hurt, but it was not a head injury, and Brentford carried on.

Amorim's misery is then compounded as De Ligt hobbles off in the aftermath of the celebrations and Maguire comes on.

THE FORMER NEWCASTLE MAN DELIVERS A DAGGER FOR BRIGHTON!

The Seagulls haven't been the better side, but they won't care as a moment of Minteh magic undoes the Magpies.

Minteh twists and turns Livramento inside and out before curling an effort beyond Pope in the Newcastle net.

His effort takes a slight deflection before finding the far corner.

Minteh then celebrates in front of the away end and then kisses the Brighton badge!

The Gambian has netted seven goals across all competitions for Brighton this season, with each of his last two now coming against Newcastle.

That is his sixth goal in the Premier League this season, netting for the first time since 14th February 2025 against Chelsea.

Over in the London Stadium, the Hammers have got back on terms, and it's, of course, the captain who makes the breakthrough!

A poor goal from Tottenham's point of view as Bowen is released in the box and he then provides a cool finish through Vicario's legs.

The angle is tight, and the Spurs goalkeeper will be disappointed to have been beaten from there.

Shaw almost put one in his own net in the opening minutes, and now has had a hand in helping the home side restore terms.

It has a slice of luck about it as United fail to deal with a long throw-in, which Kayode helps knock on.

Damsgaard then sends the ball back toward goal, and it takes a huge deflection off Shaw that sees it past Bayindir.

Both rotated Europa League hopefuls have taken a shock away lead within minutes of each other.

Spurs have silenced their London rivals against the run of play!

Kilman sloppily gives possession away on the edge of the area, and Tel pounces, as he squares across the face, similarly to Garnacho.

Odobert then slots into the back of the net!

It is his first goal in the Premier League this season, netting for the first time since 23rd December 2023 against Fulham.

It is also Tel's first Premier League assist, while West Ham are now under major pressure.

The Hammers have failed to win any of their last 20 matches when conceding first in the Premier League, since a victory over Luton Town on 11th May 2024.

A fast counter down the left-hand side through Alejandro Garnacho sees the Argentine square across the face.

Mount's run goes untracked, and the England international slots well past Flekken.

Mount has scored his first goal in the Premier League this season, netting for the first time since 30th March 2024 against Brentford.

He now has 2 goals in 6 appearances in the Premier League against the Bees.
