Jeremie Frimpong is keen to join Liverpool, talkSPORT understands.

Bayer Leverkusen star Frimpong, who has a £29.5m release clause, is one of the options to replace Real Madrid-bound Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield.

While Liverpool have held talks with Frimpong’s representatives, they are yet to formally approach Leverkusen as they mull over whether to sign a direct replacement or put their faith in Conor Bradley.

The Reds are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window in a bid to build on their Premier League title win.

Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez is also high on their list of targets while they are competing with Arsenal and Real Madrid for Cherries centre-back Dean Huijsen.

They also plan to recruit another forward with Darwin Nunez available for sale, with Alexander Isak, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekiteke all admired.

Arne Slot did not make a single addition to his squad in January ahead of the Reds winning their 20th league title.

Meanwhile, Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili the only signings made last summer, with the latter remaining on loan at Valencia.

Roberto Firmino is expected to leave Al Ahli this summer, talkSPORT understands.

The Brazilian striker has one year left on his deal with the Saudi Pro League side.

However, he is now actively looking to return to Brazil this summer, with Flamengo a potential suitor.

Filipe Luis' side are the current Copa do Brasil and Supercopa do Brasil holders.

Flamengo will also appear at this summer's Club World Cup, facing Esperance de Tunis and Chelsea in the group stage.

The 33-year-old has not played in his homeland since leaving Tombense for Hoffenheim 14 years ago.

Meanwhile, a Premier League comeback is not currently being explored by the former Liverpool striker.

Firmino left Anfield to join Al Ahli in 2023 and has since scored 21 goals in 64 appearances for the club.

The club captain also lifted the AFC Champions League earlier this month.

Everton have confirmed Goodison Park will remain in use following the end of this season.

The Toffees will play their final match at their iconic home against Southampton on Sunday after 133 years.

It comes ahead of their move to their new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock this summer.

However, the club have now announced that their women's team will play home matches at Goodison Park from next season.

Brian Sorensen's side will move to the stadium from their current 2,200-capacity home, Walton Hall Park.

The move is part of the Goodison Legacy project, which launched in 2020 to define the future of the venue.

It means the famous ground will avoid demolition once the men's first-team move homes this summer.

Goodison Park had been set to be replaced by house, shops and a care home under previous plans.

Everton have played at the 39,752-seater stadium since it was constructed in 1932.

Sunday's final men's first-team match at the ground kicks off at 12pm.

Nottingham Forest have clarified Evangelos Marinakis' post-match reaction to their draw with Leicester on Sunday.

The club's owner was seen speaking to manager Nuno Espirito Santo on the pitch following the final whistle after a worrying injury suffered by Taiwo Awoniyi.

Awoniyi has since undergone surgery on the abdominal injury he suffered, with the club confirming the striker is recovering well.

A club statement read: "Nottingham Forest can confirm that Taiwo Awoniyi is recovering well so far following urgent surgery on a serious abdominal injury sustained during Sunday’s match against Leicester City.

"The seriousness of his injury is a powerful reminder of the physical risks in the game, and why a player’s health and well-being must always come first.

Because I don't think he does."

James Milner is set to be handed the chance to break the Premier League's all-time appearance record.

The Brighton midfielder is currently 17 short of Gareth Barry's landmark 653 appearances.

Milner's contract with the Seagulls is set to expire at the end of the season.

However, the club are now in talks with the 39-year-old over extending his stay beyond the summer, The Athletic report.

The former England international, who will turn 40 in January, joined Brighton on a free transfer in 2023.

He has since endured two injury hit campaigns on the south coast, though, with a thigh issue keeping him sidelined since August.

Milner has made 23 appearances for the Seagulls, with 18 coming in the Premier League.

Those matches have taken his tally to 637 in the top-flight across spells with Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool.

Having overtaken Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs' tally last season, he now sits second on the all-time Premier League list of appearance makers.

Milner's former team-mate Barry set the record between 1998 and 2018 during his time with Villa, City, Everton and West Brom.

Joel Ward will leave Crystal Palace this summer after 13 years at Selhurst Park.

The club have confirmed the right-back will depart when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Ward is Palace's current club captain, a role he has held for the last two years.

Since signing from Portsmouth in 2012, the 35-year-old has made 363 appearances for the club, scoring six goals.

The veteran defender won promotion to the Premier League in his first season with Palace before starting in the 2016 FA Cup final.

However, Ward has played just a single minute in the league so far this season in a campaign disrupted by a pair of calf injuries.

In a message to supporters on the club's website, he said: "For me, it’s been a huge privilege to wear this shirt, to represent this club.

"It’s been an incredible journey with so many fond memories, so many incredible moments – moments that will live on in my mind for the rest of my life.

"Obviously, I came from somewhere else.

But I’ve been a part of this club and a part of the furniture for so long that I’d like to think I’m part of the family.

"This isn’t ‘goodbye’ – it’s merely a ‘see you later.’"

Real Madrid remain interested in signing Dean Huijsen, talkSPORT understands.

The Spanish giants have continued to admire the Bournemouth defender's performances this season.

A host of Premier League clubs are also keen on a move for Huijsen this summer.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all potential destinations for the Spaniard.

Huijsen's current preference if he stays in the Premier League would be to join champions Liverpool.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are also ahead of Chelsea in the pecking order of potential English suitors.

The 20-year-old joined the Cherries on a six-year deal from Juventus last summer.

He has since made 30 league appearances for Andoni Iraola's side, scoring three goals from centre-back.

Former Arsenal academy star Tyreece John-Jules has been released by Crawley.

The Red Devils have confirmed the departures of three players following their relegation from League One.

Sonny Fish and Jasper Sheik will also leave Broadfield Stadium when their contracts expire.

A further six players remain in talks over new deals, leaving manager Scott Lindsey with 18 first-team players currently on the books.

John-Jules will depart after eight months with the club, having signed on a free transfer in October.

During that time he failed to score in 25 league appearances as Crawley were relegated to League Two.

His arrival followed his exit from Arsenal, where he had spent 15 years after initially joining the club's famed Hale End academy.

Despite not appearing for the Gunners first-team, John-Jules was prolific at youth level.

Across 68 matches for the under-21 and under-18 sides, the striker scored 35 goals.

The 24-year-old also appeared on the bench in the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League during his time at the Emirates Stadium.

Antony has been backed to earn a Brazil recall after his form since leaving Manchester United.

The winger joined Real Betis on loan until the end of the season in January.

He has since scored eight goals and provided five assists in 22 appearances for the Spanish side.

Former Brazil striker Diego Costa has now tipped Antony to return to the international fold after more than two years out of favour.

The ex-Chelsea man told The National: "So Antony lacked a little patience.

If he carries on like this he’s a player who’s going to be there to play in the World Cup."

Antony has two goals in 16 caps for Brazil, who are in action against Ecuador and Paraguay in World Cup qualifying next month.

Those fixtures will be the first of Carlo Ancelotti's tenure after he was confirmed as the Selecao's new boss.

Brazil need seven points from their remaining four qualifiers to confirm their spot at the 2026 World Cup.

Leicester have rejected a request from supporters for a tifo tribute to Jamie Vardy at their final home match of the season.

Sunday's clash with Ipswich will be Vardy's final appearance for the Foxes at the King Power Stadium.

The club legend will depart after 13 years when his contract expires this summer.

Fan group Union FS have now revealed they have had multiple proposals to honour Vardy at the match rejected by the club.

In a statement released on X, the group said: "The man deserves unending thanks from us for the memories he has brought to our city since 2012 and we had proposed a full-stand display in the Kop to do just that.

"Our request was rejected, on the basis that the club will move forward with a club-funded agency provided display to cover the whole stadium.

"Our position will never change: tifo by fans, not hired hands."

The club's decision has been met with backlash from supporters on social media.

In response, one fan commented: "This club never ceases to annoy me."

Another added: "The club really hates the fans that use their voice."

Ruben Amorim’s job as Manchester United manager is not under threat even if they lose the Europa League final, talkSPORT understands.

Amorim admitted he was ‘embarrassed’ by United’s Premier League form after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat at home to West Ham, which left the fallen giants with a pitiful 24 points from his 25 games in charge.

That dismal record has prompted suggestions Amorim’s position will come under review following next week’s do-or-die clash with Tottenham in Bilbao.

However, United insiders insist club top brass are planning for the long-haul with the Portuguese at the helm.

Amorim will also be backed in the summer transfer window with a deal to sign Wolves talisman Matheus Cunha advanced.

talkSPORT reported on Monday that confidence is growing in United’s chase for Ipswich striker Liam Delap.

We can also reveal Bournemouth midfielder Antoine Semenyo has held talks with the Red Devils.

Mason Greenwood could be on course to make a controversial return to English football.

Greenwood was forced to leave Manchester United in 2023 after leaked plans for him to resume his Old Trafford career sparked fury among fans and employees.

This season he has scored 19 goals in 34 league games for Marseille, a record bettered only by Paris Saint-Germain ace Ousmane Dembele.

However, sources close to the 23-year-old say he is unsettled in France, which has put clubs across Europe on alert.

talkSPORT has been told Greenwood’s potential suitors include at least two Premier League clubs.

Earlier this year former England international Greenwood applied to switch allegiances to Jamaica to join their World Cup qualifying campaign.

West Ham’s Europa Conference League-winning defender Nayef Aguerd has dealt manager Graham Potter a blow by demanding a move away this summer, talkSPORT understands.

Aguerd has had a successful season on loan at Spanish side Real Sociedad, prompting Potter to plan to reintegrate him into his team ahead of the next season.

With the Hammers unable to spend big due to PSR restrictions, Potter sees Aguerd as an opportunity to save cash.

However, the Morocco international has made it clear he has no intention of returning to London Stadium.

West Ham will want to recoup the bulk of the £30million they paid to sign Aguerd from French club Rennes in 2022 in order to sanction a sale.

He has since made 58 appearances for the Hammers, scoring four goals from central defence.

Winning the Europa League would not save Manchester United's season, according to their former assistant manager.

Rene Meulensteen has given an honest assessment of his old side's fortunes this season.

The Red Devils face Tottenham in the Europa League final on May 21.

A win would secure both the trophy and a spot in next season's Champions League.

Asked if a victory would make up for their poor league form, Meulensteen told Action Network: "Absolutely not.

This is the lowest they have ever finished in the Premier League.

"Never mind that, if you look at Bruno Fernandes’ contribution this year with goals and assists, and take it away, it could have been worse.

"For both teams, Manchester United and Tottenham, it is vital that they win the Europa League because it gives them a ticket into the Champions League that creates extra funds and creates the possibility to sign other players they need.

"So there is so much riding on that final, but it doesn’t make up for the league."

United are 16th in the Premier League with two matches remaining, with their current position representing a lowest finish since promotion in 1975.

Meulensteen spent five years as Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant at Old Trafford, winning three Premier League titles in that time.

Leeds and Everton are among the clubs tracking soon-to-be free agent Vladimir Coufal, talkSPORT understands.

Coufal, 32, will leave West Ham at the end of the season after being told his contract is not being extended.

Everton boss David Moyes is a big admirer of the Hammers’ Czech cult hero while newly-promoted Leeds want to add more top-flight experience to their squad.

Fulham had a number of bids rejected for Coufal on the last day of the winter transfer window and may also revisit their interest.

Coufal, whose agent is ex-Reading winger Stephen Hunt, wants to stay in England beyond the end of his Hammers contract after five years at the London Stadium.

It comes after his son Nicolas signed with the club’s academy, which Coufal revealed in a video shared to social media.

Alongside the clip, he wrote: “We are so proud of you.

Welcome in West Ham my son.”

Since signing from Slavia Prague in 2020, Coufal has made 178 appearances for the Hammers, providing 20 assists from right-back.

He was also part of their Conference League-winning side in 2023 under Moyes.

Coufal will leave the club this summer along with fellow out of contract stars Aaron Cresswell, Lukasz Fabianski and Danny Ings.

Manchester United are not planning to hold a trophy parade if they win the Europa League.

The Red Devils will instead hold a barbeque at their Carrington training ground if they beat Tottenham in next week’s final.

It is understood the decision is part of continued cost-cutting measures at Old Trafford.

The club have previously announced redundancies and removed free lunches offered to staff.

As well as the potential celebration plans, United are also set to restrict player ticket requests.

Players will be limited to two free tickets to the final in Bilbao on May 21 along with on-the-day travel to the San Mames.

United have been given an allocation of 15,000 tickets for their clash with Spurs in Spain.

The winner of the Europa League final will qualify for next season’s Champions League despite both sides sitting in the Premier League’s bottom five.

Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche has hinted at snubbing a move away from the club this summer.

The 23-year-old has been linked with both Manchester City and Manchester United ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Akliouche is understood to be valued at £59million by Monaco, who are open to selling the French under-21 international.

However, Akliouche has now expressed his desire to remain at the club beyond the summer.

Speaking after Saturday’s win over Lyon, he told reporters: “I am under contract at Monaco and I hope that I will be here next season, why not?”

The victory secured Monaco’s place in the Champions League for a second consecutive season.

Akliouche penned a new contract with the Monegasques last summer through to 2028, having joined the club’s academy as a 15-year-old.

He has since scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season.

Nottingham Forest are set to target at least five new signings this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Nuno Espirito Santo can expect a busy summer at the City Ground after securing European qualification.

As well as new signings, Forest are expected to seek new contracts for several of their key players.

Neco Williams, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina are set to be offered new deals by the club.

Aina's current contract expires at the end of June, whilst Williams and Hudson-Odoi both have a year remaining on their deals.

Meanwhile, Rennes full-back Adrien Truffert is understood to have been identified as the priority left-back target ahead of the transfer window.

The Frenchman joins Ipswich striker Liam Delap, Manchester City starlet James McAtee and Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes as summer targets.

Forest are also expected to make a fresh approach for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, the report adds.

Sunday’s draw with Leicester secured a place in Europe for the first time in 29 years with a guaranteed top seven finish.

Although they will at least be playing Conference League football, Forest could still book a place in next season’s Champions League ahead of their final two matches of the campaign.

Liverpool are progressing with talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, talkSPORT understands.

The Dutch full-back is seen as a direct replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.

Alexander-Arnold will leave the Reds on a free transfer when his contract expires and is set to join Real Madrid on a five-year deal.

Arne Slot’s side are now pushing ahead with their plans to replace the England international ahead of their Premier League title defence.

Talks are underway between the club and the player, who is keen on a move to Anfield.

It follows his agent, Jeffery Lemmert, posting on Instagram with the caption: "We working," and his location set to Manchester.

The 24-year-old previously spent nine years in Manchester City’s academy before leaving England to join Celtic in 2019.

He currently has 30 goals and 44 assists from right-back in 190 appearances since signing for Leverkusen in 2021.
