Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Timo Werner has a hamstring injury.

The German international has played just eight minutes of Premier League action since early January.

He has dropped down the pecking order as the campaign has gone on, and he won't be playing on Friday against Aston Villa or in the Europa League final on Wednesday either.

Of course, with Player of the Season, we also have Manager of the Season.

For this, there are five nominees.

Arne Slot: It would be incredible if the Dutchman weren't nominated for the award after guiding Liverpool to the Premier League title in his first year as Reds boss.

Eddie Howe: Newcastle United are on course for their greatest season in Premier League history, given they won the Carabao Cup are on track for a place in the Champions League.

Nuno Espirito Santo: No one expected Nottingham Forest to get European football this season, but that is what they've achieved thanks to the former Wolves boss.

Thomas Frank: Brentford are on course to earn a place in the Europa Conference League this season, which given they lost Ivan Toney and his replacement, would be some achievement.

Vitor Pereira: When Pereira arrived at Molineux Wolves were in the relegation zone, but they are going to finish comfortably midtable.

The voting for Premier League Player of the Season has officially opened, and unsurprisingly, Liverpool dominate.

The champions have three player sup for the award, there is two from Nottingham Forest and one from Newcastle, Brentford and Arsenal, respectively.

Mohamed Salah is the clear favourite with 28 goals and 18 assists, but he faces competition from Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch.

Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood have both been magnificent as Forest sealed a return to European football this year.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak has propelled Newcastle into the Champions League places with 23 goals.

And Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo has enjoyed a truly stellar campaign.

The Arsenal representative is Declan Rice, who has added goal contributions to his game this year as the Gunners missed out on the title.

talkSPORT understands that Dejan Kulusevski is a major doubt for the Europa League final.

The Swedish international started Tottenham's 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday, but he was withdrawn before half time after suffering a knock.

The knee injury he picked up means he'll sit out the match with Aston Villa on Friday.

But more importantly, his involvement in the final against Manchester United is not guaranteed with Kulusevski requiring pain-killing injections.

Gary Neville has made an astonishing suggestion ahead of the Europa League final next week.

Speaking on Sky Sports' The Overlap, the Manchester United legend indicated he believes Bruno Fernandes is the only player in Ruben Amorim's side that would get into Ange Postecoglou's.

Neville admitted he was worried about the clash in Bilbao because of the lack of quality in the Man United squad.

He said: "Only Bruno, in my opinion, would get into the first XI of Spurs.

"I would select every single Tottenham player.

"Goalkeeper is a 50/50 split because I don't like [Guglielmo] Vicario, and I am not a fan of [Andre] Onana.

"But [Destiny] Udogie, [Pedro] Porro, [Micky] van de Ven, [Cristian] Romero, [Yves] Bissouma, [Pape Mate] Sarr, [Brennan] Johnson, [James] Maddison, [Dejan] Kulusevski, [Dominic] Solanke and [Heung-min] Son.

"I would choose every Tottenham player over Manchester United's next Wednesday.

"That's my worry.

"If the players play like they should do, Tottenham win."

Real Madrid are seriously considering triggering the £50 million release clause of Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, talkSPORT understands.

Huijsen has held talks with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

If he does not join Real, then Liverpool would be his preferred destination followed by Arsenal.

Ironically, Real also have an interest in Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate, whose contract expires next summer with talks stalling over a new deal, and Arsenal’s William Saliba.

Aymeric Laporte will have his £390,000-a-week contract at Al Nassr torn up, talkSPORT understands.

The 30-year-old joined Cristiano Ronaldo at the Saudi Pro League Club in 2023 in a £23.6m deal from Man City.

Laporte, who won five Premier League titles at City and the treble in his last season, still has one year left to run on his Al Nassr deal.

He is believed to be the third highest paid defender in world football with only Kalidou Koulibaly (£553,000-a-week) and Virgil van Dijk (£400,000-a-week) taking home more.

As of yet, there is no Premier League interest in the Spaniard, but Marseille have made an approach after the centre-back struggled to adapt to life under Stefano Pioli.
