Manchester United are not planning to hold a trophy parade if they win the Europa League.

The Red Devils will instead hold a barbeque at their Carrington training ground if they beat Tottenham in next week’s final.

It is understood the decision is part of continued cost-cutting measures at Old Trafford.

The club have previously announced redundancies and removed free lunches offered to staff.

As well as the potential celebration plans, United are also set to restrict player ticket requests.

Players will be limited to two free tickets to the final in Bilbao on May 21 along with on-the-day travel to the San Mames.

United have been given an allocation of 15,000 tickets for their clash with Spurs in Spain.

The winner of the Europa League final will qualify for next season’s Champions League despite both sides sitting in the Premier League’s bottom five.

Monaco winger Maghnes Akliouche has hinted at snubbing a move away from the club this summer.

The 23-year-old has been linked with both Manchester City and Manchester United ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Akliouche is understood to be valued at £59million by Monaco, who are open to selling the French under-21 international.

However, Akliouche has now expressed his desire to remain at the club beyond the summer.

Speaking after Saturday’s win over Lyon, he told reporters: “I am under contract at Monaco and I hope that I will be here next season, why not?”

The victory secured Monaco’s place in the Champions League for a second consecutive season.

Akliouche penned a new contract with the Monegasques last summer through to 2028, having joined the club’s academy as a 15-year-old.

He has since scored seven goals and provided 12 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions this season.

Nottingham Forest are set to target at least five new signings this summer, according to The Telegraph.

Nuno Espirito Santo can expect a busy summer at the City Ground after securing European qualification.

As well as new signings, Forest are expected to seek new contracts for several of their key players.

Neco Williams, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina are set to be offered new deals by the club.

Aina's current contract expires at the end of June, whilst Williams and Hudson-Odoi both have a year remaining on their deals.

Meanwhile, Rennes full-back Adrien Truffert is understood to have been identified as the priority left-back target ahead of the transfer window.

The Frenchman joins Ipswich striker Liam Delap, Manchester City starlet James McAtee and Southampton’s Mateus Fernandes as summer targets.

Forest are also expected to make a fresh approach for Brentford forward Yoane Wissa, the report adds.

Sunday’s draw with Leicester secured a place in Europe for the first time in 29 years with a guaranteed top seven finish.

Although they will at least be playing Conference League football, Forest could still book a place in next season’s Champions League ahead of their final two matches of the campaign.

Liverpool are progressing with talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, talkSPORT understands.

The Dutch full-back is seen as a direct replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer.

Alexander-Arnold will leave the Reds on a free transfer when his contract expires and is set to join Real Madrid on a five-year deal.

Arne Slot’s side are now pushing ahead with their plans to replace the England international ahead of their Premier League title defence.

Talks are underway between the club and the player, who is keen on a move to Anfield.

It follows his agent, Jeffery Lemmert, posting on Instagram with the caption: "We working," and his location set to Manchester.

An approach has also been made to Leverkusen regarding the structure of triggering Frimpong’s £29.5million release clause.

Frimpong has three years left on his deal with the German side, where he won a league and cup double last season.

The 24-year-old previously spent nine years in Manchester City’s academy before leaving England to join Celtic in 2019.

He currently has 30 goals and 44 assists from right-back in 190 appearances since signing for Leverkusen in 2021.

Frimpong has also scored once in 12 caps for the Netherlands, including three appearances at last summer’s Euros.

Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has suggested he would be interested in a move to the Premier League this summer.

The France international cited Manchester United and Tottenham's struggles this season whilst discussing a potential transfer.

Chevalier made the comments at the UNFP Awards, where he was named Ligue 1's best goalkeeper this season.

The 23-year-old told reporters: "The Premier League?

I haven’t had any contacts, but it makes you think."

United and Spurs currently sit 16th and 17th in the table with two matches remaining.

However, one of them will be in next season's Champions League by winning the Europa League final on May 21.

Tottenham have been dubbed the 'worst team in Premier League history not to go down'.

Ange Postecoglou's side have suffered 20 league defeats from 36 matches this season.

Sunday's 2-0 home loss to Crystal Palace leaves Spurs 17th in the table with two fixtures remaining.

Although they cannot be relegated, Jason Cundy believes this season's Spurs side are the worst in the Premier League era to avoid the drop.

The talkSPORT co-host told Jamie O'Hara on The Sports Bar: "You've been, a three-legged dog with fleas.

"You are the worst team in Premier League history, thus far, not to go down.

You're a disgrace."

Spurs' current league position would represent their lowest finish since promotion to the top-flight in 1978.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou's men cannot finish any higher than 13th this term, a fate they have not suffered for 21 years.

Manchester City have released their new home kit for the 2025/26 season.

The club have unveiled their sky blue shirt with manufacturers Puma ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Their new shirt also features a white diagonal stripe in tribute to 'previous City away days'.

White shorts and sky blue socks complete the kit alongside the newly unveiled jersey.

Erling Haaland and Phil Foden are amongst the City stars to have modelled the new strip as part of the official launch.

The kit will be worn for the first time at this summer's Club World Cup in the USA.

City have been drawn into group G for the expanded 32-team tournament.

Pep Guardiola's side will face Wydad Casablanca, Al Ain and Juventus during the group stage in June.

Nottingham Forest striker Taiwo Awoniyi had urgent surgery on Monday night after suffering a serious abdominal injury in Sunday's match against Leicester.

The Nigeria international collided with the post late on in Forest's 2-2 Premier League draw with their East Midlands rivals at the City Ground.

The surgery was required urgently to treat the nature of the injury, which the PA news agency understands is not life-threatening.

Awoniyi tried to carry on after receiving several minutes of treatment but the extent of the injury was discovered when treated by medical staff on Monday.

The incident was the source of Evangelos Marinakis' frustration, which saw the Forest owner storm on to the pitch and confront boss Nuno Espirito Santo after the match.

Awoniyi returned to action but was unable to move properly as Forest were chasing a late goal which would have been vital to their Champions League hopes - and Marinakis was unhappy a substitution was not made.

To make matters worse, the incident, where Leicester midfielder Facundo Buonanotte also collided with the upright, happened after Anthony Elanga was allowed to advance on goal, despite being clearly offside.

Play continued after assistant Sian Massey-Ellis delayed putting her flag up, with both players colliding with the post at speed.

It was a disappointing day for Forest, whose Champions League hopes suffered a major blow.

They are no longer in charge of their own destiny.

Winning their last two games, including a final-day meeting with Chelsea, might not be enough unless Aston Villa, Manchester City or Newcastle drop points along the way.

However, they are assured of at least a place in the Conference League, which will see them play European football for the first time since 1995-96.

The Premier League transfer deadline is set to slam four hours earlier than usual this summer.

Mike Keegan of the Daily Mail reports the window will close at 7pm rather than 11pm.

This is to help club staff have a more normal working day because most of the staff involved in admin end up working well into the early hours.

However, there are some Premier League clubs who are concerned the shift will leave them vulnerable to other leagues, while certain deals will no doubt collapse with less time available.

But given the move is purely down to the well-being of the staff, this is good to see people's live and health are being considered.

UEFA have confirmed that German referee Felix Zwayer will officiate the Europa League final next week.

And that's an appointment that could lead to some interesting reactions from Man United and Tottenham.

Zwayer was given a six-month ban by the German football federation in 2006 for his involvement in a match-fixing scandal.

"There were loads of options but Liverpool is the place for me.”

Also, on comparisons to him and Mohamed Salah signing new contracts and Alexander-Arnold not, Van Dijk said: “Everyone has different opinions or different phases of their career, so you can’t compare our situations.

“I was very happy to eventually come to an agreement with the club.

"Obviously, it’s not really a Liverpool thing to go about it the way we did with me and Mo but, like I said when it was announced, I’m happy and proud to extend because for me, there is no other place to be at this point."

Ipswich striker Liam Delap is leaning towards joining Manchester United, talkSPORT understands.

Man United and Chelsea are the two leading Premier League candidates to trigger Delap’s £30million release clause.

Former Man City youngster Delap, who has scored 12 top-flight goals this season, is said to be keen to return to the north west.

United’s pursuit of the England under-21 ace will be further boosted if they beat Tottenham in the Europa League final.

It would mean they qualify for the Champions League and Delap's preference is to play in UEFA's top-tier competition.

I feel like everything we could do - maybe we could have done things a bit better - but we tried.

"Obviously for the Champions League, if we won maybe we'd be in already but the good thing is it's in our own hands and if we win the last two games in the league we'll definitely be in."

Ruben Amorim admits he could leave as Manchester United manager with the Red Devils emulating form from when they were last relegated.

They may have booked their place in the Europa League final but Man United's domestic misery continued with a 2-0 defeat to West Ham at Old Trafford.

The result sees Amorim's men slip to a lowly 16th in the Premier League table with Man United losing 17 of their 36 league outings this term.

While relegation isn't a danger this season, their form replicates that of the 1973/74 season - when Man United were last relegated from the top flight - with their 17th defeat the most league defeats they've suffered in a single campaign since they last went down.

Amorim succeeded Erik ten Hag as Red Devils boss in November, signing a two-and-a-half year deal, but admits his days at Old Trafford could be numbered sooner rather than later.

The Portuguese also suggested that their Europa League final date with Tottenham merely papers over the cracks on the bigger problems at the club.

"Everybody here has to think seriously about a lot of things," Amorim told the BBC.

"Everybody is thinking about the [Europa League] final.
