The race for the Champions League is going down to the wire, with just one point separating third and seventh as things stand.

Elsewhere, Jamie Vardy played his 500th and final Leicester game on Sunday, scoring in a 2-0 win over Ipswich for his 200th goal.

Liverpool face Brighton at the Amex tonight, live on talkSPORT, hoping they're not too hungover from their celebrations abroad.

MO SALAH'S MISS PROVES COSTLY!

Brighton have equalised with 20 minutes to go!

But his left-footed finish ends up going well wide!

He won't want to see that again...

Things are back underway at the Amex.

Liverpool faced 11 shots in the first half.

That is their most in the opening 45 minutes of a Premier League game since May 2016 vs Swansea City (also 11).

On top of that, Brighton had 32 touches in the Liverpool box, the most by a team in the first half of a top-flight game against the Reds on record (since 2009-10).

It's fair to say they could be on the beach defensively...

They were actually on the beach all last week to be fair, so you can't blame the Premier League champions too much.

After losing in the FA Cup final on Saturday, City have not won a major title for the first time in eight years, but Guardiola still wants to show off his silverware.

His side's main aim this season is to now qualify for the Champions League, and he made a point to reference the trophy-winning clubs who could make the competition.

The Man City boss said: "Of course, it's important to qualify.

"But except for Newcastle who won the Carabao Cup, Liverpool won the Premier League and Manchester City that won the Community Shield - the other teams didn't win trophies

"So the other teams like Chelsea, who can win one title [Europa Conference League] against Real Betis, and [Manchester] United and Tottenham can win the Europa League.

"All the other teams, they are expecting of course to qualify for the Champions League but this is important for every club that play this in competition next year.

"We played a really good [FA Cup] final, not enough to win it, and we have the last two games.

"We need four points to be in the Champions League next year and this is enough and everyone has to be aware of that."

Liverpool are at the Amex this evening as they face Brighton.

Alongside multiple pictures from Leicester's win over Ipswich, his caption read:

"13 years, 500 games, 200 goals...Completed it mate."

A whole host of current and ex-teammates have commented on his post as they pay their respects to a club legend.

Tottenham Hotspur have posted a video of their players getting on the coach to head to Bilbao for the Europa League final.

The footage shows James Maddison and Pape Mate Sarr getting on the bus, which is interesting, given Maddison is supposed to have no hope of playing.

Sarr was a doubt after being substituted against Aston Villa, but he's made the journey.

However, there was no sign of Dejan Kulusevski or Lucas Bergvall.

talkSPORT understands that Manchester United are expecting to agree personal terms with Matheus Cunha later this week.

The Brazilian has a £62.5 million release clause inserted into his contract, but the Red Devils are yet to indicate they are willing to pay it.

Cunha is expected to leave Molineux this summer, and Man United are keen on bringing him to Old Trafford.

They face competition, but Cunha has his sights set on Man United.

talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs understands that Manchester City have withdrawn from the race for Florian Wirtz.

The German international emerged as a contender to replace Kevin De Bruyne, but they fear the deal will be too expensive.

The total package is looking to be around 300 million Euros for Wirtz to leave Bayer Leverkusen.

City are the frontrunners to pick up Morgan Gibbs-White from Nottingham Forest with Wirtz now not a target.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been speaking ahead of the Citizens' huge game against Bournemouth, live on talkSPORT.

The race for the Champions League is so tight, and any dropped points for City could see them miss out.

City were involved in the FA Cup final on Saturday and lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace, but the attention has had to switch back to the league.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference said: “We don’t have much time to recover for an important game against Bournemouth [but] we have to recover quick, we’re a big club.

“We have two massive important games for the future of this club.

Sunday is recovery, then [think about the Bournemouth] game and we will see how we prepare, see how the players recover and go from there.”

talkSPORT reporter Ian Abrahams, aka The Moose, states that West Ham are set to offer Michail Antonio a new deal.

The West Ham striker is currently out after a horrendous car crash in December.

The forward broke his leg and is currently recovering.

His deal expires at the end of the year, but the Hammers want to extend his contract.

Antonio has returned to training and has offers from other Premier League clubs and some in the Championship and in Saudi Arabia.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that Oliver Glasner will be at the club next season.

The Austrian became the first manager in the club's history to win a trophy on Saturday.

The Eagles picked up the FA Cup by beating Manchester City 1-0, and Glasner is now a club legend forever.

There are plenty of teams interested in recruiting him, but Parish claims talks are underway over a new deal, and no matter what, Glasner will be at Selhurst Park next year.

He said: “We’ve been talking about it [new contract].

Oliver will be here next year."

talkSPORT understands that Will Still is in advanced talks to become the new Southampton manager.

The Belgian-born coach is leaving Lens to return to England to be closer to his partner, Sky Sports reporter Emma Saunders, who is ill.

The Saints are set to be in the Championship next season and have had two permanent managers this season in Russell Martin and Ivan Juric.

The Saints have managed two wins in the league all season and are going to be the second-worst side in top-flight history.

Departing captain Kevin De Bruyne has revealed he "probably won't" play for Manchester City at the revamped Club World Cup next month.

The 33-year-old is set to leave the club when his contract expires this summer, with Premier League games against Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium and a trip to Fulham potentially his last in a City shirt.

De Bruyne has helped City to six Premier League titles and the Champions League since signing in 2015, but suggested after their 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup final that the timing of the new competition will likely hinder his ability to take part.

"It does not make any sense," De Bruyne was quoted as saying by a number of national newspapers after the Wembley final.
