In the Merseyside derby, Liverpool saw Everton off 2-1 at Anfield, with Hugo Ekitike scoring the decisive goal.
The pressure on Graham Potter grows after West Ham lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace, while Tottenham Hotspur came from 2-0 down to seal a point against Brighton and Hove Albion.
And in the 5:30pm game, Manchester United and Chelsea ended with ten men in a chaotic encounter at Old Trafford that the hosts won 2-1.

Here's confirmation that Bukayo Saka is with the Arsenal squad today ahead of this afternoon's showdown against Manchester City.
Ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta hinted that a late decision would be made on his talisman's availability after his stint on the sidelines.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Arsenal boss said on Saka, Martin Odegaard and Ben White: "If there is a chance, it will be after tomorrow's session as they haven't done anything yet, so we'll have more information tomorrow."

Amad Diallo provoked a Manchester United backlash after he swapped shirts with Alejandro Garnacho.
Amad posted an image on Instagram alongside Garnacho, who joined Chelsea for £40m this summer, after the Red Devils’ 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
He also tagged in the agency that represents both of the players.
However, it was met with some furious reaction from Man United fans.
One fan said: “Taking a photo with a rival player who’s publicly disrespected the club whilst also playing c*** so far this season.
The lack of awareness is astounding.”
Another added: “Nothing wrong with being friends off the pitch but surely this is a little poor in taste?”
A third wrote: “This is disgraceful.”
Amad would later go on to delete the Instagram post.

Jamie O’Hara was left with his head in his hands as a West Ham fan called for Kevin Nolan to replace Graham Potter.
Potter is on borrowed time at the Hammers and is under serious threat of being sacked after losing to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
West Ham sit 18th after five Premier League games, taking just one solitary win.
The results have been hugely concerning, with three of their defeats by a three or more goal margin.
The West Ham hierarchy are seeking replacements and talkSPORT understands that Slaven Bilic and Nuno Espirito Santo have already been sounded out, while Gary O’Neil is another contender.
After Saturday’s defeat to Palace at the London Stadium, Hammers fans called into talkSPORT in their droves and many called for a change in the dugout.

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has apologised for his role in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Manchester United.
The Spaniard was sent off just four minutes into the clash at Old Trafford for bringing down Bryan Mbeumo outside the box.
It saw boss Enzo Maresca make two changes, bringing off wingers Estevao and Pedro Neto for goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen and centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo respectively.
Chelsea would soon fall two goals down before the break, with Trevoh Chalobah pulling one back for the visitors late on.
Sanchez has now taken to social media where he has issued a heartfelt apology.
He said: "On me today guys, big sorry for that, team put a massive effort on the second half but couldn't get there."

Michael Oliver blows the final whistle and brings an end to the west London derby.
It started brilliantly for Brentford with a Mikkel Damsgaard goal after a mistake from Josh King.
But two goals in quick succession changed the game around in Fulham's favour.
They were both avoidable from Brentford's point of view, but Alex Iwobi and Harry Wilson won't care.
A third followed quickly in the second half through Ethan Pinnock's ridiculous own goal.
The Cottagers saw a stunning fourth ruled out for a foul by Rodrigo Muniz on Nathan Collins.
But the game was done anyway.

Rodrigo Muniz has the ball in the back of the net, but it's not going to count!
The Brazilian striker is adjudged to have fouled Nathan Collins in the build-up.
The striker catches Collins in the face with a forearm, but it does seem accidental even if blood is left pouring from the Irishman's mouth.
It's a shame because the goal was excellent.
Muniz leathered a stunning shot in at the near post, but it doesn't stand.

OH, NO!
Fulham have a third, and this is one of the weirdest own goals you will see.
First of all, we should credit Ryan Sessegnon because he's just delivered a wonderful cross.
The winger gets the ball on the left and sends a dangerous delivery into the box.
Ethan Pinnock tries to duck underneath it or stoop to head (I am not sure), and the ball ends up hitting the back of his neck, looping into the air and dropping into the net.
That was bizarre!

TURNAROUND COMPLETE!
Nathan Collins is again at fault as he fails to deal with a pass forward, knocking it to Alex Iwobi.
Iwobi turns from goalscorer to provider with a slide-rule pass through the Brentford defence to Harry Wilson.
The Welshman doesn't even take a touch, he just opens up his body and finds the bottom corner.
It is a lovely finish, and the game has totally flipped in the space of a few minutes.

Nathan Collins misses his initial clearance before only prodding the ball away.
Two Brentford player then get in each others' way, and the ball drops for Alex Iwobi.
The midfielder calmly fires home on the volley from six yards.

In the early stages of the west London derby, it is goalless.
We've had one opportunity at either end, though Brentford's didn't come from a shot.
Instead, Michael Kayode launched a long throw into the box that bounced and hit Bernd Leno, who ended up sitting on it.
If it had gone in after touching him, it would have counted.
Down the other end Caoimhin Kelleher has had to be alert to punch away an effort.

The referee blows the final whistle, and Manchester United have won.
In the end, it was nowhere near as comfortable as it could have been.
Robert Sanchez was sent off after four minutes, and Bruno Fernandes scored soon after.
The lead was doubled when Casemiro headed home before he was sent off.
That set up a nervy second half, but despite having 72 per cent of the ball in the second half, they had two shots.
A Trevoh Chalobah header halved the deficit, but the Blues offered nothing after that.
It's a huge win for Ruben Amorim, but it tops off a bad week for Chelsea.

Enzo Maresca has responded to the Manchester United goal by bringing Cole Palmer off.
The England international doesn't look happy at all as he has a word with his manager.
Palmer then throws a huge coat on and heads back down the tunnel at Old Trafford.
Andrey Santos is on for him, making it three substitutions in the space of 20 minutes.
