Liverpool are planning to open talks with Mo Salah over a new contract in the near future, talkSPORT understands.
Salah dropped a bombshell after scoring in Sunday's 3-0 victory over Manchester United by claiming it could be his last appearance at Old Trafford in a Liverpool shirt.
But the Anfield hierarchy are relaxed about Salah's situation with talks scheduled to take place with their Egyptian superstar's advisers imminently.
It is also understood Salah is settled on Merseyside and keen to stay beyond the end of this season when his current deal expires despite the possibility of a big-money move to Saudi Arabia.

Sticking with Chelsea as the club have announced that Jason Gannon has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer - just a year-and-a-half after their previous CEO took charge.
In May 2023, Chris Jurasek took over the role but will now transition back to being an operating executive with Clearlake Capital, the co-controlling owners of the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Meanwhile, Gannon, who joined the club as COO in October last year, will instead take responsibility for all the business areas of the club.
Chelsea’s co-controlling owners Todd Boehly, Behdad Eghbali and José E.
That's where we have to grow to be now."

England's Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and Harry Kane have earned themselves a nomination for this year's Ballon d'Or award.
Palmer shone in his debut season for Chelsea, as well as Euro 2024 for England despite getting minimal game time, scoring the Three Lions' only goal in the 2-1 defeat to Spain in the final.
Saka and Rice's performances for Arsenal and Harry Kane's with Bayern Munich sees them join Palmer.
Manchester City's Rodri and Arsenal's William Saliba and Martin Odegaard are also among the nominees.
The ceremony takes place on October 28.

The EFL have released a statement on Leicester City avoiding an initial threat of a points deduction after a successful PSR appeal.
It reads: "The EFL notes the decision of the independent Appeal Board in respect of Leicester City’s appeal regarding the Premier League’s jurisdiction over the Club’s alleged breach of its Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
"We are currently reviewing the decision in full and will reserve any further substantive comment until any possible appeal process initiated by the Premier League has concluded, and or any action is taken by the EFL.
"We share the frustrations of the Premier League.
It cannot be right that Clubs potentially escape the scrutiny of the agreed rules and sanctions due to movement across the divisions.
"Cost control rules have been agreed by the member clubs of the Premier League and EFL, and it is incumbent on the Leagues to apply the rules as intended to uphold the integrity of competitions, with Clubs required to act in utmost good faith towards one another for the benefit of all Clubs and their supporters."

England newbie Angel Gomes has been speaking at his first press conference since being named in Lee Carsley's squad.
The 24-year-old has enjoyed a whirlwind journey to the Three Lions having left Manchester United to join French Ligue 1 side Lille in 2020.
Gomes won the U21 Euros under Carsley in the summer of 2023, and now over 12 months later, is hoping to make his senior debut.
Asked what it was like to leave his boyhood club United at such a young age, Gomes said: "When I left it was more for the idea to better myself as player and obviously as a person.
"I knew that eventually I would be able to create a pathway for myself to be in this position that I'm in now.
I'm just thankful that I'm here now and I'm able to showcase myself.
"I just didn't quite make the group but it's always fuel to keep going."

Chelsea have been handed a major boost with their bid to comply with profit and sustainability rules (PSR).
ESPN claim the Premier League have cleared the sale of two club-owned hotel buildings to themselves through sister company Blueco 22 Properties Ltd, which went down in the books as £76.5m of income.
The latest accounts for the 2022-23 financial year published in April showed Chelsea made a loss of £89.8m last season.
However, that figure would have been £166.4m had Todd Boehly and Co.
He always gives his very best.
“It's his decision and we respect that, but I hope he doesn't leave."

The Premier League transfer window may have slammed shut - but clubs can still snap up top class players for nothing.
English top-flight teams forked out over an incredible £1.8billion this summer - with Dominic Solanke's £65m switch from Bournemouth to Tottenham the biggest move.
However, there remains plenty of star-studded talent available for nothing from goalkeeper right up to attack.
That includes ex-Manchester United striker Anthony Martial and Liverpool cult hero Joel Matip.

Lee Carsley was handed a boost as all 23 players were able to participate in his first training session as England boss this morning.
The Three Lions' interim boss was joined by coaches Ashley Cole and Joleon Lescott as he took to the pitch at St George's Park.
Carsley has already seen three players he originally selected withdraw from his squad for the upcoming Nations League fixtures.
“Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins and Phil Foden will play no part in England’s forthcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures,” an FA statement read last night.
“The Three Lions squad reported to St George’s Park on Tuesday but, following assessment, both Palmer and Watkins returned to their clubs to continue rehabilitation for ongoing issues.
“Foden did not report through illness and is ruled out of the matches against Republic of Ireland and Finland.”

Galatasaray are considering a move for Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.
But United sources have told talkSPORT a move to Turkey is unlikely at this stage with his wage demands believed to be a barrier.
The Brazilian is one of United's top earners and has two years left on his contract worth around £300,000-a-week
Meanwhile, in more Turkish transfer news, Kieran Trippier is pushing to leave Newcastle amid interest from the Super Lig.
Fenerbahce and Besiktas are among the clubs who have approached Newcastle over Trippier with the Turkish transfer window open until September 13.
Eddie Howe has made it clear he wants to keep the former England international.

Martin Zubimendi has detailed for the first time the reasons behind rejecting Liverpool in favour of staying at Real Sociedad.
The midfielder had been Arne Slot's leading transfer target for most of the summer window to fill the Reds' vacant No.6 position.
Liverpool had been keen to activate the 25-year-old's £51million buyout clause at the start of August - a period in which they were the only club in Europe's top-five major leagues yet to make a senior signing.
However, Zubimendi, who is a product of Real Sociedad's academy, ultimately rejected the temptation of a Premier League switch.
He told Spanish outlet Marca: “I didn’t have any pressure from my close circle [to turn down a transfer away].”
“My friends are clear that whatever I decide, it will be the best.
There is no pressure at all.”
The Euro 2024 winner added: “Real Sociedad for me is my life, I think I have spent half my life there.
“A lot of what I am is part of La Real, it is my life.”
Liverpool went onto to agree deals for Federico Chiesa and Giorgi Mamardashvili [for 2025], but refused to pivot to an alternative holding midfielder following Zubimendi's rejection.
Instead, Ryan Gravenberch has been deployed in a new role under Slot and has impressed as the club have won all three games so far.
Sociedad meanwhile sit 12th in La Liga with just four points from four games and only one victory.

Liverpool are set to open contract talks with Luis Diaz, talkSPORT understands.
talkSPORT sources have confirmed reports first revealed by the independent club website, This Is Anfield.
Diaz looked to be coming towards the end of his Merseyside tenure this summer amid interest from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
Liverpool were said to be keen on a move for Newcastle's Anthony Gordon, who plays in the 27-year-old's position on the left-wing.
The Reds also had Cody Gakpo still on their books, who shares a nationality with the club's new Dutch boss Arne Slot.
However, it has proved to be Diaz that has emerged as a key player at the start of the new era, having started all three games so far.
The Colombian has scored three goals and assisted another to help Liverpool claim a perfect winning start to the new season.
Diaz’s current deal is set to expire in 2027, having remained on the same terms since completing his move from Porto in 2022.
The winger is among the lower earners in the Liverpool squad, having thought to be earning a wage of around £55,000 per week.
The club are set for a busy few months of negotiations, with Diaz's contract talks potentially sparking a flurry of activity in-house.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah are all in the final years of their respective deals.

Southampton star Samuel Edozie is set to join Anderlecht on loan, talkSPORT understands.
The 21-year-old almost completed a move to Rangers on transfer deadline day but the Scottish giants pulled out at the eleventh hour.
The Londoner had travelled to Glasgow before the move collapsed and the UK deadline slammed shut before he could find a home elsewhere.
The Belgian window is one of the few in Europe still open, and now Edozie looks set to be heading to Anderlecht.
Vincent Kompany's former side qualified for the UEFA Europa League this season and will offer valuable experience for the youngster.
Edozie has scored six goals in 63 appearances for the Saints since arriving from Manchester City for more than £5million in 2022.

Jadon Sancho has already impressed Chelsea fans during his first training session since arriving in a deal that was announced almost 24 hours after the window closed.
The forward has swapped Manchester United for Stamford Bridge on a season-long loan deal with the obligation to make the switch permanent for £25million.
Sancho will now be hoping to reignite his career following a frustrating three years with the Red Devils.
His Old Trafford woes meant he wasn't named in Lee Carsley's England squad, but that has offered him the chance to hit the ground running at Chelsea.
Sancho is yet to play a minute of football this season but looked sharp as he was put through his paces at Cobham on Tuesday.

Former Republic of Ireland boss Martin O’Neill defended his role in being unable to sway Jack Grealish and Declan Rice away from England.
Grealish played for Ireland’s under-17, under-18 and under-21 teams but turned down multiple call-ups from O’Neill for the senior squad as he pledged his future to England in 2015.
Rice also represented the Boys in Green at various youth levels but also won three caps for the senior team under ex-Aston Villa boss O’Neill, although all of those contests were friendlies.
Rice was subsequently able to represent another nation due to the FIFA rules at the time, and elected to play for England in 2019.

Former Manchester United star Anthony Martial has reportedly been offered the biggest contract in AEK Athens' history.
Greek outlet Sport24, via The Sun, claim that AEK have tabled their most lucrative offer to the Frenchman in their 100-year history.
The report is yet to confirm the figures involved, but it would exceed the £2.1million-a-year that the club's highest earner and former Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela currently takes home.
Martial is still a free agent following his Old Trafford exit at the end of last season following a stunning fall from grace.
The 28-year-old had the world at his feet when he joined the Red Devils from Monaco in September 2015 for a fee of £36m - a deal that included a Ballon d'Or clause and which made him the most expensive teenager ever at the time.
After scoring on his debut in a 3-1 win over rivals Liverpool, Martial went on to find the net four times in his first four matches.
The 2019/20 season was Martial's best in front of goal as he scored 23 times for the Red Devils, however, he failed to get into double figures for goals scored in the seasons since.
As well as winning an FA Cup, an EFL Cup and a Europa League title, Martial scored 90 goals for Manchester United, before his exit.
He missed out on a chance to lift a second FA Cup in May after being left out of Erik ten Hag's Wembley squad for the win over Man City.
Martial's last game for Man United was a 3-0 home defeat by Bournemouth on December 9.

In front of the watching Unai Emery, Argentine Buendia captained a youthful side to a 3-2 victory at Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night.
The 27-year-old laid down a marker by reminding his manager of his undoubted quality with two goals in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy.
Buendia last featured in a competitive fixture in May 2023 having suffered an ACL injury in training two days before the start of the 2023/24 season.
