Well, the second halves weren't quite as exciting, but still, we were served a treat of Premier League football.
At the Amex, it ended 2-2 between Brighton and Tottenham.
The hosts had a 2-0 lead through Yankuba Minteh and Yasin Ayari.
But Richarlison pulled one back before the end of the half before a Jan Paul van Hecke own goal secured a point for the Seagulls.
At the London Stadium, Graham Potter suffered another defeat as the pressure builds on the West Ham manager.
Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell scored the goals for the visitors that sealed the three points.
There was also a massive victory at Molineux for Leeds, who came from 1-0 down to beat Wolves 3-1.
That means it is five games, five defeats for the Old Gold.
And at Turf Moor, Ange Postecoglou is still waiting for his first win as Nottingham Forest manager after a 1-1 draw against Burnley.

Stach hits it so sweetly and doesn't bother going up and over the wall, he just smashes it in at the goalkeeper's near post.

Anthony's effort is towards goal but not a clean contact at all and Zinchenko looks like he's there to cover and clear off the line.

Tolu Arokodare collects the ball and plays it backwards to Fer Lopez, who then floats a beautiful pass into the box with his first touch for Krejci to run onto.
It's perfectly weighted, and the defender doesn't look out of place in the box as he scores past Karl Darlow with a really nice lofted finish.

There's a goal already, just four minutes into the 3pms - but, sorry Fantasy Premier League manager, it's not Chris Wood.
It's a first Premier League goal since February for full-back Williams, who absolutely thumped the ball in the net from inside the box after a corner was knocked down.
It took a bit of a deflection, but it really was a properly hard hit strike.
