It’s shaping to be a summer of change for some of Liverpool’s old guard under Jurgen Klopp.
Earlier this week, we’ve already had reports that Aston Villa is considering sanctioning a contract termination for Philippe Coutinho.
Coutinho, who is still contracted to Villa despite having not played for the Birmingham outfit in over two years, is currently on loan at his boyhood club Vasco da Gama.
Coutinho’s loan spell with Vasco ends on June 30, but the Brazilian club has expressed a strong desire to keep him for the remainder of their season.
Another Liverpool pillar of the Klopp era Divock Origi does not have a clear future at AC Milan.
Origi is under contract with Milan until June 2026, earning approximately €4 million per season-one of the highest salaries at the club.
Milan has made repeated attempts to offload him, including seeking a mutual contract termination, but Origi has so far refused all proposals to leave, reportedly preferring to see out his lucrative contract.
Unless Origi changes his stance or a club matches his wage expectations, he is likely to remain at Milan, training with the reserves and not featuring in any competitive matches.
But one club who have got an ex-Liverpool man off their books is West Ham.
The London club has officially confirmed that former Liverpool striker Danny Ings will leave the club at the end of the 2024/25 season, as his contract is set to expire.
Ings, now 32, departs the London Stadium alongside Aaron Cresswell, ?ukasz Fabia?ski, and Vladimír Coufal, marking the end of an era for several experienced Hammers.
For Liverpool supporters, Danny Ings will always be remembered as being a talent unfortunately ruined by injuries.
Signed by Brendan Rodgers in 2015, Ings’ time with the Reds was unfortunately blighted by serious knee injuries, restricting him to just 25 appearances and four goals in all competitions.
Despite limited opportunities, he remained a fan favourite for his work rate, attitude, and determination he showed in battling back from long-term setbacks.
West Ham’s statement praised Ings as a “brilliant professional on and off the pitch, with fantastic experience in the Premier League”.
Ings made 69 appearances for the Hammers since joining from Aston Villa in January 2023, playing his part in their successful run in the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League.
