Clubs across the Premier League have paid tribute to Diogo Jota after the Liverpool forward tragically passed away in a car accident.

Jota, 28, is said to have been travelling with his brother, Andre Silva, in the Zamora region of Spain when the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Zamora News have reported that emergency services were called to the scene, shortly before 1am, to respond to the accident.



The Zamora provincial council reported that firefighters responded to the scene on the A52, which is known as the Palacios de Sanabria, after the vehicle involved caught fire.

Liverpool have already issued a statement paying tribute to Jota - while also asking for privacy to be respected for Diogo and Andre's family.

Several Premier League clubs have also issued statements to pay their respects to Jota and his brother, Andre.

Manchester United's official club statement, posted on X, read: "Our deepest condolences are with the loved ones of Diogo Jota and his brother, Andre, and everyone connected with Liverpool FC, following today's heart-breaking news."

Everton also paid tribute to Jota and his brother, Andre, with a message on social media that read: "Everyone at Everton is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva.

Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this sad time."

Wolves signed Jota from Atletico Madrid in 2017, where he would spend three years at Molineux before going on to join Liverpool in 2020.

"Diogo was adored by our fans, loved by his teammates and cherished by everyone who worked with him during his time at Wolves.

"The memories he created will never be forgotten.

"Our hearts go out to the family, friends and loved ones of Diogo and his brother, Andre.

The statement from the Gunners read: "The thoughts of everyone at Arsenal are with Diogo’s family, friends and all associated with Liverpool FC.
