Premier League clubs will feel aggrieved after hearing that up to £200million could be spent on Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been busy in the transfer market this summer, as they look to close the gap to reigning champions Liverpool this season.
Man City have brought in the likes of Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Tijjani Reijnders, among others.
However, City still have their 115 charges case hanging over their head, which is costing both them and the Premier League a huge amount in legal fees.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the costs may total £200m by the time an outcome is reached.

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen CEO.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that other clubs in the Premier League won’t be happy if their money is being spent to fight a legal battle.

There may not be an outcome in the Man City case until the end of 2025, especially if the verdict is appealed.
Wyness added that hopefully all parties can learn a lesson from the debacle and prevent it from happening again.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “This is the Man City case, which we still obviously do not know the outcome.
“Now the clubs won’t be happy if that’s the case, if there’s £200million being spent from the Premier League, that comes out of the distribution to the clubs.
So hopefully it’s a lesson that we can all learn from and we’ll go on from there.”
The Premier League have been fighting the case against Man City for several years
Meanwhile, Man City are entering the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, sources have told Football Insider.
Guardiola’s side are exploring a move for the unsettled Italy international with Ederson potentially set to join Galatasaray.
City have expressed an interest in Donnarumma and are ready to rival Man United for his signature.
United have been heavily linked with the 26-year-old, amid doubts around the long-term future of current number one Andre Onana.
