The date and time for the first Merseyside derby of the season has been confirmed following the latest release of Premier League fixtures.

The top flight confirmed the initial dates for all 38 games in June, but they are moved during the season to accommodate broadcaster TV selections.

The dates and times for matches in August were confirmed on 9 July, and on Wednesday the league confirmed dates for matches in September.

The first Merseyside derby of the season is the big match for Liverpool fans.

It will now be staged as planned on Saturday 20 September, with a new kick-off of 12:30 BST (07:30 ET).

The match will be poignant one for the Reds as the home game against Everton last season marked Diogo Jota's final goal for the club, which sealed all three points in a 1-0 victory.

It was a match that will also be remembered for the officials' failure to send off James Tarkowski for a full-blooded challenge on Alexis Mac Allister, a tackle even Everton legend Duncan Ferguson admitted should have seen red.

Meanwhile the match against Burnley the preceding week has been moved to Sunday 14th September and will kick-off at 14:00 BST (09:00 ET).

That is the Reds' first match of the month and first after the close of the summer transfer window and the September international break.

Liverpool's other Premier League match of the month - the away meeting with Crystal Palace - will still be played on 27 September, and will kick off at 15:00 BST (10:00 ET).
