The son of Wigan Athletic legend Maynor Figueroa, Keyrol Figueroa, trained alongside Alexander Isak during the Swede's first training session with Liverpool earlier this week.

Maynor Figueroa, who made 200 appearances for Wigan and was part of the 2013 FA Cup-winning team, became a father just a few years before his transfer to Fulham in 2008.

The then-toddler, who moved from Honduras to the North West of England in 2006, is now a 19-year-old striker playing for Liverpool's academy.

There are lots of things that he can do, whether he plays in the middle or slightly off one side."

Isak returned to Liverpool's training ground earlier than other Reds players who were on international duty this week, clearly eager to regain match fitness having barely played since the end of last season.

Sky has slashed the price of its Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle for the 2025/26 season, saving members £336 and offering more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.

Isak might feature in some capacity against Burnley this weekend but is doubtful to be handed a starting berth given his limited playing time in recent months.

During Friday's press conference, Arne Slot faced questions from reporters for the first time since Isak joined Liverpool, with the manager asked about his initial thoughts on the striker.

"Maybe people don't believe me if I give you this answer but I haven't spoken to him that much," Slot responded.

"So, I spoke to him after he signed by phone because he had to go to the national team and the way I, 99 out of 100 times, treat my players during international breaks is I leave them for the manager they are working with over there.

"So, I texted him now maybe once or twice because he is new to us [and] I wanted to know how he did.
